[h=2]Goldman Sachs can't catch a break.[/h] The vaunted Wall Street firm reported a nearly $2 billion quarterly loss Wednesday -- its first loss in six years -- due to a short-term hit from the new tax law.

The lack of market volatility also led to a steep drop in trading revenue during the last three months of 2017.

I wonder how much of that was liquidity that was "hit" as a loss so they can maximize their write-offs for 2017 taxes? Just a quick online search but I sure can't find anything where their physical assets or investments took a hit.

GE - $10 Billion Loss - SEC involved now
Toy's R Us - 180 store closings
Subway looking to shutdown more stores - Over 900 last year alone!
Kleenex and Huggies Maker to Cut More Than 5000 Jobs

Hmmm I see an uptick in jobless claims for a ton of unskilled labor.

Might start peeling back some seed money.

Forgot one!
Sears is closing another 103 stores, on top of the 63 closing at the end of this month, the company said Thursday. Most of the stores will close by April. The new list of closures includes 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears stores.Jan 4, 2018

Are they all getting killed by online sales? Big Box stores? Of course, Subway is likely losing market share to competitors with better products.

Not sure if online sales are hurting or helping big box stores. I have noticed that Best Buy stock is up more than $10 a share since the middle of last year. What's that all about?

Well, I didn't get that position:sick:

:banana:However, I am getting an offer letter for a different position.

Conditional offer received and all the paperwork done except for security clearance (waiting for someone to contact me).
