Frixxxx's Account Talk!

San Diego? Hot there lately.

My son just moved there in March. He lives in North Park but works in Rancho Bernardo.

I helped him move there. Drove from East Tennessee! Then drove back for a visit with the wife in June.

Nice town. Felt very comfortable.

Enjoy!

BTW, HE's a programmer too.

Who's in San Diego with high speed internet?

THIS GUY!

Finally! I used up my 10G of high speed data on my phone 3 days ago....128KBPS throttled!

Remember, unlimited data is not FAST unlimited data.

Unless you are on Verizon, who does not throttle. They will begin charging customers still left on the old "unlimited" plans (like me) an additional $20 beginning Nov 11, 2015 for said privilege.

Ouch, mobile technology has become the new drug industry....give 'em a taste and they'll pay for the good stuff!

10G or 10M?

10G "gigabytes"

Since I normally have 6-7 devices and they are streaming pretty much constantly, I was missing my cable modem fiercely. That includes SMART TVs and utilizing movie clients...... Goes quick on that little galaxy S6.

Sweet! u rooted?

Nope, the one place I don't monkey around with since my phone is sacred to me. I work so much on computers that I rely heavily on that little flat piece of technology being pretty stable.

I used to root my phones but have been stuck between a hard place and my head and no vendor support. I need something I literally "pay for" to work. Plus my company reimburses me for it, so I leave it alone.

Yeah...I misunderstood you at first. I thought you were saying you get 10Gb/s  LOL

I still root, but very carefully...having a nexus helps...lots of support and no vendor software. For vendor support (hardware), I can unroot and return it to stock condition.

LOL:eek: 10Gigs a second........that would be awesome!

Maybe my grandkids will have that technology.

Yeah, 10 gigs (in totale) of data then they throttled me.....

Moved to San Diego.

Chose nice place near town to take advantage of Public transportation, Airport, sailing.

Now I got a guy across the street ordering up SWAT for a visit and shutting down the airport.

OOPS!

Hmmm, should have stayed in Suffolk... Any luck on that GS job?

Just takes some time Frixxx. It will all happen for you in the right way. Congrats on being in San Diego. Great place to live.

If I ever move to the West Coast, San Diego is my dream place to live, and not just because I'm a Chargers fan. ;)

Congrats on the move and best wishes on landing the job you WANT and will ENJOY!

OK, here's update:

The house in Virginia closed on the 2nd. Cost me an extra $700 because of a bad estimate.....OH FREAKIN WELL!

Job is going great, but got sick this week......freaking hell, but maybe I'll be better for my four day weekend next week!

So, my new 401k is going like gangbusters! Wish I could say the same for TSP. So weird to have the two to compare again......

San Diego is great and Little Italy is catering to my pasta needs (really wants, but I will be careful!)

Now I'm scheduled back into my sailing classes for next year!!!!!!! Need some new gear!

Will contact those as soon as I can for breakfast/lunch/dinner plans, you know who you are!

Peace!

The Lazy Frixxxx!

Lazy Frixxxx here!

Well, finally made it into positive territory. Let's see how it lasts...I promise more effort next year.

My new company's 401k lets me move more often, and in it I'm +16%!

Off to Norfolk for a whirlwind business meeting, two admirals, one bread crumb, queue the Star Trek fight music!

Have a great week all!

Frixxxx

Been a while since I posted in my account thread.

Two things:
1. I promise to be more active in my account this year.
2. Waiting to hear if I will be offered a position back into the government soon.

Wish me luck!
