F Fund

using stockcharts.com: You have to divide the number by 10 first.

TNX=-.58, use -.058
TYX=-.52, use -.052

Yahoo charts: Don't have to do anything with the numbers. Just remember the 3:00pm est. cutoff time.

TNX=-.058
TYX=-.052

-(-.058 + -.052)*.25 = .0275 cents or 3 cents.

I'll keep that in mind.

Thank you.:)

I've been reading for hours and can't find an answer! I have fewer "F" fund shares today than I had yesterday, and therefore less money in the account than I had the last time shares sold at this same price. No IFT! I thought the number of shares couldn't change without an IFT. What happened to my missing shares? What am I missing here? Thanks for your patience with a newbie!

Welcome to the Message Board Barnstormer!
Of course you know that if your allocations encluded the "F" fund and the AGG LOST MONEY THIS WOULD RESULT IN LESS SHARES YOU OWN BECAUSE YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE IS LESS. It lost $.11 per share yesterday.

I am very new at this. Still trying to figure it all out. I am assuming the values you plug in for TNX and TYX are the changes in the yields.

Example from 1/25

TYX = -0.59 or -0.059 corrected
TNX = -0.39 or -0.039 corrected

- (-0.059 + -0.039)*0.25

0.098*0.25 = 0.0245 or 2 cent gain

Is that correct?

Yes.

Is this not a normal retest of the bottom? And, is that not fore seeable?
Intend to stay in "F" till after jobs report!
(Sub. to change at any second! LOL)

Thanks, nnuut, but that doesn't help! I understand that the aggregate lost money, so share prices went down and I lost money. That's a no brainer! But, why do I have fewer SHARES, when I didn't sell any? Both the price of shares AND the total shares went down in my account, and nobody can tell me why I now have fewer shares. Yes, I do know how dense I am! :blink:

Barnstormer, I am as perplexed as you are. That doesn't sound right. I have never seen the amount of shares change unless you did an ift. The # of shares times the share price for the day obviously changes your $$ amount but not your share amount. If you get an explanation please post it.

Thanks, Gunny! Wilco! I don't feel quite so dense now. Misery loves company! :worried:

Funny thing! I just noticed that the missing 82.5083 shares have a value of exactly $1,000 @ yesterday's $12.12/share. Am I the only one who's share count went down??? :confused:

I figured it out! I've been retired for over 2 years now, and just this month started a $1,000 monthly allotment. All is as it should be! :embarrest:

Yup, that would do it. Now we can breathe a little easier knowing nobody is messing with our $$$$$.
Whoa. Has anyone else been experiencing that the tsp contributions are not being applied at the same time every 2 weeks? My pay day was Friday and nothing was entered into my acct. This is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened. Since I started DCA'ing into the C fund and they didn't put anything in does that mean I won't get Friday's share price?

Thanks

Oh! that's what it is, you are dipping into the pot!! :D

Yep! Premature remuneration! :embarrest:

I was forced to retire 5 years earlier than planned and really have no choice at this time. An annuity would have been far too restrictive and limiting. This course of action allows far more flexibility, including the option (albeit only once a year) of reducing payments to a minimum disbursement if I no longer need them. I have other assets that will eventually reduce or eliminate my dependancy on TSP. ;)
