I am REALLY new to this, so bear with me.

First, I want to say that I had been using another TSP fund system when a friend turned me on to Ebb. I used it the last month before it went premium and was sold! Bought a year's subscription the first day and made all that plus back the same day!

My problem is that it APPEARS that over the last few days my fund transfers are ending up on the wrong days. I always transfer before 11am Eastern Time, but sometimes my transfers are before 8am ET, and it appears that they are ending up being changed THAT MORNING rather than at COB that day. [NOTE: I am in Central Time and begin work about 7am; I check the Ebb site at that time and make any adjustments necessary after 7am Central Time and before 11am Central Time.]

Again, I'm still trying to figure out how to read the TSP web site, but when I did a transfer about 730am Central Time I got a confirmation at 9:20am that morning that showed the transfer and indicated that it would be effective that same day. When I checked the TSP site at the end of the day, it showed 100% in the fund that it should have gone to the NEXT day. When I try to track what fund was used each day, it always appears that it is the fund it was to be changed TO for the next day.

What am I missing?

Welcome BET52. TSP uses the close of business as the day of the transaction. It is confusing compared to how we comunicate the transfers, but if you make an IFT on a Wednesday by 11 AM CT to 100% G fund, for example, you will be in the G-fund on Thursday. But the TSP considers the effective day Wednesday because you actually bought the G-fund at Wednesday's close of business share price.

You start on Thursday in the G-fund at Wednesday's closing price.

I hope that helps.
Tom

Welcome to the Board BET52, a couple of things that may make you think Your IFTs are behind or being changed:

1. An IFT made before the 12:00 deadline is effective the close of business that day, in your case 15:00 Hours CDT.
2. I have never recieved email confirmation of an IFT until after the close of business that day, most of the time I receive confirmation the next day, except for Friday night, on Friday night many times I receive email comfirmation around 21:00 EDT.
3. You may be looking at the confirmation for an IFT you did the previous day?:worried:
Don't you just love a Mystery:cool:

It looks like you are very aggessive in your account as well so we probably don't have to warn you that the Ebbchart is a very active and aggressive system. Since it is out of the market 30% to 50% of the time, this approach is actually less aggressive than a buy and hold strategy.

The additional risk comes from moving in and out of the stock funds which could cause a whipsaw effect (being in stocks on a down day and out on an up day).

Here's more info on the system: www.tsptalk.com/ebbchart.html

The IFT's are the next day. When you go to your account on TSP and look at the balance page, if you made a IFT that day(before deadline) it will show the new allocations on this page. For some reason TSP displays IFT's this way. I've written them about this with no response. My guess is when they do the nightly updates, they update the balance and the allocations that are in effect at the time of the update. That's why you see tomorrow's allocations.

If you check your balance on a day that you did not make a IFT(before deadline), your allocations will show correctly.

Thanks to tsptalk and nnuut. I sort of figured that might be the case, but the confirmations (three of 'em) on the same day I made the IFT really confused me--and, yes, I'm sure they were the ones I made that day. I keep a tracking sheet.

I know the Ebb is agressive and may lose $$. Been there. But the up, so far, greatly outweights the down. And also greatly surpasses my previous system's success.

Thanks again.

What's also nice with the Ebb System, you still control the keyboard. It's allot less difficult to guess which direction the Ebb System is going in relation to our economy. You can either bet "ON" it, bet against it or follow it without question on pure faith.

My TSP tugboat has been based on faith for the last four years. No complaints from me. I am grateful that I've had DCA as my redeemer though.

Hey Ebb, I thought we were going to start the new week with a bang? Wait a minute. We did!! ;):D Just kidding. It all evens out in the end just got to say thought those 2.5% days really suck.

Monday could well be a very bad day. We may repeat the August debacle. Between Uncle Ben running his mouth and all the doom and gloom. It's tough to stay on top.

Hopefully my move to the * at COB will be a buying oportunity and not a free desert offered up to the market bear after it wolfed down all of my proffits from the last month.

Would you like some frys with those stocks Mr bear?
