Ebb, THANK YOU, btw....I followed your chart in the beginning of the year with mixed reviews....I didn't have any expectations. I've fought you long enough and my 6% for the year wasn't making it. I switched mid-month to your system and just to let you know. My first day on your system, paid for my subscription. YOU ARE DA MAN!

Ditto that! Thanks.

I'm so sick of the FV!!!! Do we EVER make out on it????? Because it doesn't seem like it to me! As if it isn't hard enough just to be in the right fund at the right time, you have to contend with the FV too!!!

It's a big rush when you catch a huge +FV and ride it out to another fund. Feels like you are making out like a bandit! No one complains on those days.

or you can ride it out all the way and still make money (like what happen just the last two days)

I don't get it! The I fund was supposed to give back the -0.90 % FV that it took from us yesterday, but I see it is at +0.39 % for the day! That's not even equal to the +0.44 % that EFA went up today, let alone the 0.90 % from yesterday that was supposed to be paid back! What the heck is going on? I assume it must be we had another -FV today, so are they cumulative??? Will they eventually be paid back? If so, maybe we will be there when they do!!!! Hope so!

I agree, but so far it seems like it hasn't happened for me!!!:( Maybe it has, but I just didn't notice it! Now I think I know what to look for...I think! Grin!

Bigdave, today the final MSCI EAFE (I-fund) was at -0.51% and it can be found here:

http://www.mscibarra.com/products/indices/equity/performance.jsp

As you can see, the FVC (fair valuation correction) had taken place today. Hope this helps.

-0.51% (MSCI EAFE/I-fund) and +0.90% (FVC) = +0.39% (+.10 cents).

For anyone who missed the FV action from Thursday, here is a part of the ebbchart commentary:

As luck would have it, yesterday (Thursday) we had another one of those FV (fair valuation) that sent our I-fund gain from +1.07% to a measly +0.16%. If we checked the EFA chart (it approximates our I-fund), it's value was 85.35 at 11:35 PM ET. That's normally the time when our I-fund's price are pretty much set. And by the time the market closed around 4:00 PM, the EFA chart's closing value read at 84.58 or -0.90% less. That -0.90% (FV) is going to be corrected (or given back) today, but since we're in the S-fund, we won't be getting any of that back.

EBB,

Thanks so much for the response. I have saved the above link in my favs now!

So, I have one question, please. The iShares MSCI EAFE Index (EFA) which is shown to have gone up today by 0.44%, vice down by -0.51%, really doesn't have anything to do with this? If so, then I'm confused as to why it is shown at the bottom of the pages here! I thought this was representitive of the I fund, but apparently not!

Thanks, EBB! And sorry for the dumb questions!

Bigdave

That -0.90% (FV) is going to be corrected (or given back) today, but since we're in the S-fund, we won't be getting any of that back.

However, the S-fund did perform the best overall. So, even though EbbTracker didn't get the correction for the -FV, it did produce a call to be in the right fund to make the most money for the day. Awesome!

ANY day you make money is fine with me. However, I tend to get a bit nervous when the Ebbtracker recommends jumping between I & S funds several days in a row. Anytime you trade in and out of "I" there's a chance for an FV. That's a disadvantage

The upside in trading "I" is that you can get a good sense of how the overseas market did prior to the noon deadline. In a sense, the FV tends to even the playing field a bit.

When you're trading C & S and the large reversals come after noon, then it's not much different than catching an FV IMO.
