When you're 100 miles off the coast on a small ship, not even cell phones work. In many ways I love this type of vacationing. No tv, no radio, no newspapers. Talk about relaxing. Guess I'll just have to park the funds somewhere and "don't worry, be happy". :D

Does this type of "Vacationing" involve mid-rats and pizza night?
Fair winds and following seas...

When on vacation you might consider being in the stock funds October - May, and in the bond funds June - September. This are the historically strong months.

Today is a day i'm glad i missed the ebb train. But of the few days i do miss the train only a small fraction are times i'm glad i missed it. Keep up the good work Ebb.

Bringing to mind another Ebb term:

In EBBscentia: trusting a co-worker/spouse/whoever with access to your TSP interfund transfer method so that they may specifically follow the Ebbchart. Highly risky manuever -- may lead to shopping sprees, identity theft and TSP "loans" to unknown third parties.

Ebb, how long are you going to be running the ebbchart? I am relatively young and anticipate about 28 more years of gov service. I did a little dream calculation on the TSP websitefor the projected account balances. Based on what I earn and contribute now, if I get 20% for the next 28 years I'd have nice 23,000,000 retirement! Dreams!

Thanks, guys and gals! Jellobrains, I won't be withdrawing from my TSP account for a long, long time. I hope you get that 20% every year! I'm shooting for 30% a year from mine.:nuts::D

Hello Everyone!

First I want to thank ebbnflow (it'll be explained further). I'm glad I decided to "click" on the other buttons within TSP and do more reading and analysis of my monies in the TSP. Not to mention actually registering to post.

I consider myself very aggressive when it comes to saving for retirement. I do not consider myself very aggressive when it comes to losses.

I've actually made up all losses this quarter - Jul-Sep 07 - that I've experienced by following ebbnflows recommendations (and looking at others) for the last two weeks.

Great Job ebbnflow!

NOTE: I've been watching/reading for several years. Perhaps, it was between 2003-2004 when I stumbled upon this website, and have always come back. Special thanks to the SYSOP who footed the bill and made this exchange for the TSP possible. Good Stuff!!

HOOAH!

I just heard about TSPTALK and ebbnflow's massive year to date return. I have been checking the site out for a few days and just wanted to say hello.

Good deal! Glad to have ya on board! I don't think we have any FAA people here...............just kidding. ;) Good luck on your return! :D

EBB, You are going to make me millionaire and I am going to owe you big time
You have made my life dreams possible and you will made them to become a reality. I hope to have the honor to meet you and shake your hand someday.
Hope you realize there are 10,000 plus more of us in the same or similar situation that mine, and you are creating a new group of Ebbmillionaires from
the Federal hard working class. God Bless You and Your Family Always ! :)

It costing us thousands of $$$ every time we do intrafund tranfers...
thou I am complaining we are making more...

Sure, combined the cost is thousands. But as the Thrift Investment Board notes, it only amounts to about .03% operating costs.

In 2005 the TSP employed less than 100 people. Saw this figure in an article praising it's efficiency. What could have changed so much to increase their costs?

How is it costing thousands?

I have been searching for just such documentation, but so far have been unable to get these numbers. The only figures that show up are related to gains or losses due to Fair Value, but not for IFTs themselves
