DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Guys,

Food for thought:

Bloomberg news -- China is going to let the markets fall as they may. Apparently they have decided not to support the markets. Cramer yesterday PM --- Sell the rallies. He compared the VIX to the VXV (3-month volatility index). A technical analyst he cited said that if VIX closes more than 5 points above the VXV (after a spike like the very early spike up rise in VIX to 53.29) it is a sign that the markets will keep falling significantly. The VXV closed at 31.14 and the VIX closed at 40.74. Go to CNBC website and check for yourself by opening and watching the free clip of the Mad Money show from yesterday. Good day to all!

On a brighter note, this is what I test drove on Saturday with a friend of mine! Wow! What a blast! And yes.i want this Jazz Blue! Put a BIG smile on my face! :D. Switching from Camaro to Challenger.... No not Hellcat, but that is okay. This 2015 SXT plus, base model plus, is a V6, 305 HP, and it Growls!! ........and its puuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrdddyy! In the sun, the speckle metallic paint is gorgeous! Looking to buy by Labor Day!

yep, nice ride for sure. i think anytime one sees something sleek and shiny with hips like that it should be ok to just grab it. are you having a midlife crisis? what's next? a new younger, prettier boyfriend?

have you considered you might be a 'stress shopper'? some folks drink or eat or kick their dog too much when under duress, and some folks like to shop. maybe secretly your inner annie is trying to tell you something and wants that new car to symbolically outrun the market?

i still say get it, you only live once. but for ethical reasons and as a courtesy though, i think the dealer should include a complimentary pack of condoms in the glove box, you gonna need 'em running around with that ride.

Follow-up: China cuts interest rates and banks' reserve requirement ratio. Cash Futures in U.S. indexes are also extremely positive. Apparently a bounce could be coming today. I don't know how long it might last.

Oh yes… that is exactly IT !!! …how did you guess… midlife crisis!! … In truth… I think I’ll hold off on the younger pretty boyfriend….not really my style …. Lol....

I’ve always driven a sporty car and while I was thinking about a luxury car I thought ---Hell NO!!! I’ll get me a luxury “hearse” sometime later when I can’t walk anymore… but with any luck I’ll be long gone…doesn’t everyone wish for that????

I had two favorite cars: the first only lasted me 4 months (thanks little sister! It went down in a “blaze” of glory!). Have you noticed how you always want what you didn’t get enough of. Well it was an MGB convertible—not the midget, it was a tad bigger than a Miata, with a beautiful Dr. Pepper-colored paint and cute spoked wheels. Yep…. Talk to me honey!! I had a great time in that convertible (age 23)!!! Every day in that car was a party!! Then my next favorite was a 1992 25th anniversary edition curvy bodied Camaro with Blue metallic paint and a very nice growl. They put a little extra horsey power into the 25th anniversary model.

Well I now have an old silver Camaro (v6) that has never growled, but has been a very good car. Still looks very nice, but mama needs something Shiny and NEW!!! That Challenger is exciting… it’s like a car bursting with testosterone… I love looking it… “MUSCLES ON TOP OF MUSCLES”!!!!!
I want to open it UP --Eat it up!!! Ahh… the Acceleration...the Attitude… it’s just too much!! Are you feeling it??? Lol…

Okay so… For the past month, I have been scouring every dealership within 300 miles! I am definitely not a stress or spur of the moment shopper. I am logical and methodical… narrowing down my decision. It is definitely going to be blue, it will growl, it will look mean and have lots of muscle! But now let’s turn our attention to the most important issue at hand (not that dang market!):

Should I leave my beloved line of Camaros…for a Challenger????
Would that be like cheating? BURROOOOO……Maybe your right… Maybe I am hitting a midlife crisis!!!! Oh no!!!:worried:

PS. Judy.. you are right. It is the woman that makes a car look good! But from a guy’s perspective I can see where they appreciate the opportunity to take a few glances! Just keep your eyes off those big headlights! :D

I think the Challenger is the coolest muscle car out there right now......and I really like the Charger too. they both have great headlights  When I was a kid (age 21) I had a Red Roadrunner with overhead cami and a 383. God I loved that car. I hope you pick the Challenger DBA!!!

Decided to reduce exposure.. per my plan. Going to 10-10-15 for the C, S, and I fund. Will likely go completely out by tomorrow. Not sure if this is the best decision but I think I need to stay out for awhile. Not much confidence in this market for the next few months. Yesterday had a promising start with a brutal ending after our cutoff at the end of day... just unbelievable..... so I am phasing out of it partly today and then partly tomorrow. Market unhealthy and not too many jumping back in... maybe its just short-term fear; but the fundamentals have been missing for some time.

Best Wishes to everyone on your investments!!!!!!!!

Hi Airlift, meant to thank you earlier for this important news....so Thank You very much! I pulled out some on Wednesday, but failed to exit completey on Thursday... Not able to. Then Friday, I was on a roadtrip. Right now I see futures are down. Will likely exit anyway. Still thin China will be causing problems plus more on Fed decision. Will see....

Bestwishes to you and everyone on investments!!!!!!!!!

Just catching up on thread.

Hi Q....agree with JPC...no need to overthink my "style"..I just meant I like older men .... No "young guns" for me...lol...

Wow... FS...I really like that old Red Roadrunner! I had to look some up on Google images. Looks like an awesome ride!

When I was 16 this guy that liked me gave me a ride in his 1968 GTO...it was a 10 year old car by then, and pretty beat up. But he worked on cars and got it running great. It was an incredible muscle car!! ...It had ~420 horsepower and a "his and hers" shifter, overdriive transmission... WOW... Will never forget the very first ride in that car. He was trying to impress me and he sure as heck did. He hit the gas and it flung me into the seat so hard...I thought the seat and I were going to fly into the backseat!! I thought I was riding a rocket! I remember I screamed ....whhhoooooooowww! It was awesome!! I've always wanted a car with horsepower like that but I doubt any car can ever beat that first unexpected experience of that much power!! Maybe one day.....for now I will just be happy to hit the gas and hear the engine growl On whichever car I end up buying. :D

Oh c'mon, DBA !

If it's acceleration that you crave, dig deep into that bag o' cash and buy one of those new Teslas...the one with "insane mode" !!! :D

Probably not the growl you're looking for, though...

I'd LOVE to test drive one of those, just to see what all the hype is about, and how it broke Consumers Reports testing methodology !!!
