DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

The DreamboatAnnie custom sock monkey dressed as a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader sounds perfect. It will definately remind me of you. So now that the wagers have been accepted, it's time to hunt. May the odds always be in your favor. Whatcha gonna do when the mighty raven is running wild on you...
Welll.....maybe I shouldn't say this, seeing that I am so sweet... but I may have to keep some bird shot nearby, just in case you get tooooooooooo wild !! :D then again maybe I can just pull out my lasso and latch on!!! That way I will not fall too far behind.

Humm... so you said you went all in on S fund....humm....Im thinking that is the place to be!! Glad you got out of "I" fund... kinda unstable over there right now. I heard someone on Fox news say our Dow could take a 1,000-2,000 point hit if Putin invades the rest of Ukraine... uggh.. Right now, I'll be waiting for C fund to come down...who knows what the week will bring. I have both IFTs for April!! :D Best Wishes to You and let the Games Begin! DBAnnie

Easy there on the raven bashing. The Funk and Wagnalls dictionary defines the raven as extremely versitile, opportunistic and unusually intelligent. Tactical error. Learn your foe before you start taking pot shots.

Agree with you on bailing from the I Fund. I was just hoping it would hold out until 1 April when I could move to the S Fund. Really wished I could have jumped in at 1004 or 1007 last week, but was all out of IFT's for March. S Fund certainly has more room to grow than the C Fund at present, so that's my play. I still have one IFt for April, so I'll be guarding it

P.S. I like this competition. He seems to have brought out a boldness in both of us. 2014 should be lots of fun.;)

Ahh...but I already checked you out my dear Raven! I know those qualities are very formidable. I could discern that from your prior posts....so I will not be underestimating you by any means. I'll be watching your moves very closely! :embarrest: But remember... I am the Dreamboat! And Annie has a very charming little boat... so keep your wits about you! Fair warning!!! lol :toung: Yep.. I can tell this is going to be a fun year!!

oh.oh... being that I am so sweet I am already thinking about what is going to happen when "I win". :cheesy: I am thinking that I should give you that cheerleader monkey as a DBA consolation prize, so you have something to cry yourself to sleep with!! Yess....that is what sweet Annie will do!! :) Humm... can we talk trash like this during the competition. Tell you what I take it all back..lets play nice! I will let you sun yourself on the deck as long as you keep your tail feathers towards the ocean! :D So the race is officially afoot and I think it will definitely be fun. I'm hoping our competition propels us to new heights in earnings this year. Best Wishes to You Raven, my "high flying" friend!

Ok DBA we can play nice for the most part. I would hope that we could exchange barbs occasionally just to keep it interesting. Friendly stuff and within good taste. If I get out of line though, you can slap me (remember I'm opportunistic). The goal of course is to grow our TSP accounts and to exchange info, tips, hunches etc...If you do fall behind I will share everything I have to help you catch up. I hope you will do the same for me. Win or lose, I can see the makings of a wonderful friendship.

Now back to business...When are you going to install a birdbath? Caw caw

Hi Ravensfan, this sounds like a solid plan. Sharing info is good. As you know, I usually post before I make moves, so yep I'll continue doing that. Will try to post at least an hour before deadline, share info and tips as usual..but at times they are last minute. I usually post a note even if just thinking about jumping in or out of market. Now...about that birdbath... I'll see what I can do!:)

Hey DBA,

You really kicked my butt yesterday. So congratulations on a great move. Futures are up this morning, so hopefully today will bring more of the same. Glad I went all in on the S Fund yesterday, so hopefully I can make up some ground this week. All I can see at this point is the top of your masts and you doing your smug dance in the crows nest. But I've got a good tail wind and should soon have you in my sights.

Calm seas and smooth sailing to you...caw caw caw

Thanks Raven. I prefer S fund above all other funds because historically, It outperforms the rest. It takes the hardest hits but also gets the best gains. Great for buy and hold. Once in, really need to be careful about getting spooked...I'm going to try using the 10 over 20 daily EMA cross over to find an exit...but will see how it goes. I'm watching carefully..bands constricting pretty tight so hoping it explodes upwards. Today, I will try to look at support and resistance..mainly support to see what a possible exit would be on C fund if it goes in wrong direction. This past week, I started watching a show called the closing bell, on Fox Business News. Comes on at the close...I guess that would be 4pm Eastern time?? I record it..fast forward through items I'm not interested in...but gotten to where I watch it daily....takes about 15 minutes if you prerecord and fast forward through extraneous stuff!

As to our positions, I think you'll be catching up soon....that single IFT did a number on you. I know your coming and I'll not be smug! Well best wishes!! IDBAnnie ..:)

Being retired, I can watch FBN all day long if I wanted to. Luvs me some Liz Clamen on The Closing Bell though. Some others on FBN whose opinions I value: Charles Payne, Stewart Varney and Liz McDonald. Also enjoy Neil Cavuto and Lou Dobbs.

As for the S Fund, I'll be watching it closely. Will sell when we get to overbought condition. If prices fall below what I paid at entry, I become a buy and holder. I was looking at some of the trades I made in 2013 and had I stayed invested instead of bailing when prices were falling, I could have avoided the loss. I got all wrapped up in "stop loss", never really understood it, and paid the price. Hopefully I've learned and can make better decisions from here on out. A number of smart folks on this forum think that April/May will be very profitable with a potential pullback sometime in June. I'll buy into that line of thinking until I don't.

Take Care and Happy Investing:cool:

Boy you are kicking my tailfeathers this morning...#430 to #565 on the autotracker. I thought you were all wind and sails but apparently you've got a turbocharger hidden on that boat somewhere. I dof my cap at you as you sail off into the sunset.

Hi ravensfan...just checking site fro m Vegas..I am at karaoke bar called Ellis Island.just sang Me N Bobbie McGee..lively crowd ..hope market stays afloat til.i get back. Best wishes.pretty sure that S fund will have u flying high soon...DBAnnie

DBA! Channeling Janis Joplin, I like it! Sounds like big fun in Vegas, glad to hear you're having a good time. So, the big question is... Do you sing with the round tones of Ann Wilson, or with the higher pitch of Joplin? :)

Hey DBA,
If you saw the markets on Friday you would be singing the blues instead of singing Me N Bobbie McGee. Everyone who was invested on Friday pretty much took it in the shorts. All except JTH and Whipsaw, they are doing the smug dance, celebrating their investment savy. I remember an old baseball saying though; "Your never as good as you think you are on your best day nor as bad as you think you are on your worst.

Hope you're having a great time. Have a safe flight home.:)

Ravensfan! Dang... If I had any investment savvy, I'd have jumped the day before. No Sir... I'm proof a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while. :D JTH works for it. Honestly, I'm floored to be in the 70's on the auto-tracker. :cheesy: I've been on the other side plenty, its not fun... Sorry there are folks out there on the wrong side of a trade, it happens.

DBA, did you get a video or recording of your karaoke?

hi whipsaw..I'm having lots of fun. Tonight saw Elton John at Caesar's annd to.Belaggio for late night dinnner. At Rio won $350 at Roulette on single spin..green 0...yes know odds r bad but somehow I usually have luck so at least won bacck my losses for and ahead couple hundred. Kept losing at 21 all day.
On singing, my sister recorded some singing, but not seen it. Voice not as raspy like Joplin, more like Ann Wilson or Whitney. I sang Killing me Softly and I will always love you for my sweetie, plus Bonnie Raitts let's give them something to talk about..closed the place down..4am. But uugghh .keep forgetting tsptalk mug...tomorrow might do the ice bar at Mandalay Bay....gotta take it there. Ravensfan mentioned market down so hoping its just a short down turn. Best wishes to all! DBAnnie

I don't know Whipsaw, I was just blown away by JTH's remark about people only following him when markets are up. You both have every right to celebrate your good fortune. Me on the other hand, I went 100% S Fund on 1 Apr. If I would have followed JTH to the sidelines, I would have been out of the market until 1 May (out of IFT's) and been negative for Apr. With that being said, I went back and looked at my 2013 trades where I was on the wrong side and realized if I would've hung in for a month or two, I wouldn't have taken a loss. So I'm playing a hunch to ride it out this time and not bail as long as current price is below what I paid on 1 Apr. I know how hard JTH works to provide quality information to the rest of us and I appreciate him very much. I just wasn't expecting that from him. My apologies if I offended anyone.

No worries:), I sat on the sidelines a long time waiting for the trends to cycle and get back in; folks had been talking about a pull back in the summer, so I was surprised when JTH jumped so I said what the hell and went too, but I still had an IFT to go after that. The limitations on moves puts us into a much longer time horizon for this. Birchtree pointed out in the fall, you have to sit still to move fast. Sticky pants can work if you have the stomach for it, not selling at a loss. I would jump out, miss the bottom and buy higher, hence my nom de plume.

Sorry friend, I wasn't trying to offend anyone, I should have clarified the statement better.

When I post bullish charts, I consistently get more likes than when I post bearish charts. Most of my bearish charts never get likes, this is where my statement was derived from.

Hey JTH, it's all good. I really do appreciate all you do for those of us still learning and I mean that sincerely. I have developed my own strategy but it is forever evolving. I'm always bouncing what I come up with off your charts. Sometimes I'm right on, other times not so much. I'm now hoping this pullback has run its course and we're all ready to make some serious coin.:)

Annie,

Hope you are making a killing in Vegas because both of us are getting our clocks cleaned in the market. The good news is you're still up on me by 1.68%. Hopefully the markets will be kind tomorrow. Where are we on the autotracker? Let's just say there are many, many, many more folks in front of us than behind.
