DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Annie,

I had a modest gain on you today (8 Apr) of +0.07%. Don't fret though, you're still up on me by 1.61%. It was good to see the markets up today as the last few days have knocked a lot of folks for a loop. Hopefully the bottom has been called and the uptrend can continue. After all, according to JTH's S&P 500 Months Chart, April has a 75% winning ratio with an average return of 2.21%. It's time to get busy...:D

Oh Annie I picked up another 0.07% on you today. If this keeps up, I'll catch you sometime in 2017...

hi whipsaw..I'm having lots of fun. Tonight saw Elton John at Caesar's annd to.Belaggio for late night dinnner. At Rio won $350 at Roulette on single spin..green 0...yes know odds r bad but somehow I usually have luck so at least won bacck my losses for and ahead couple hundred. Kept losing at 21 all day.
On singing, my sister recorded some singing, but not seen it. Voice not as raspy like Joplin, more like Ann Wilson or Whitney. I sang Killing me Softly and I will always love you for my sweetie, plus Bonnie Raitts let's give them something to talk about..closed the place down..4am. But uugghh .keep forgetting tsptalk mug...tomorrow might do the ice bar at Mandalay Bay....gotta take it there. Ravensfan mentioned market down so hoping its just a short down turn. Best wishes to all! DBAnnie
Just had to make one more comment. I loved Whitney Houston. I think she had one of the most beautiful voices ever...still do. So I do that song, usually dedicated for someone special and then always give it as a tribute to her, as the "late great Whitney Houston", and no one can sing like her...but I do try. Used to sing that song and Greatest Love of All and one Moment in Time when she was alive, but since she died, I only sing her songs on rare occasion...that's only the second time I've sang one of her songs she went to rest with our Lord. Also love to sing Heart's Alone, yes I can hit the super loud high note, and also Straight On, Dog and Butterfly, but definitely not Barracuda or Magic Man cuz of super high notes ...used to be able to in 90's but have lost a couple top notes now. Also love to sing Madonna, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson(just a couple- in range) and Stevie Nicks, Cranberries (linger). Like Celo Greens Crazy! Anything by the Eagles including I can't tell you why, desperado, and hotel California. Now I'll sing just about anything else, but no telling if it hurts your ears!! Lol  in any case, I'm back in the saddle here in Texas so I guess I need to get busy!! :D

Hi Ravensfan, well I was looking at charts today. Today's Fed announcer had a good effect on market so I'm glad about that. Hope that gives market enough confidence to keep it moving up.

Here are some links. I still keep looking at how when the bottom/wick of a candle touches or pierces the 20 day EMA, it typically indicates a down turn coming up....(not always long term, but at minimum a very short term fall in prices) . Check out these links and you will see what I mean. These are daily charts with all the other technicals we like. Includes slow stochastic. I'm more concerned about S rather than C at this. Just keeping close eye. I looked at weekly charts and we are still in the 10 weekly EMA channel...it did have intraday price action touch below, but still looks okay.as it closed at or above 10 EMA. Want to see more positive price action this week. DWCPF 10 day crossed below 20 daily EMA and in my book that is a reason for caution...so just watching but with last two day price action all indicator are moving positive ...MACD and Stochastic lines starting to slope up.

Here are daily charts

I see what you mean with the candles and it does not seem to matter whether the candle is red or white. So are you thinking of moving a little more into the C Fund? As of COB 9 APR, closing price for the S&P was 1872.18. This is above my 10, 20 and 50 SMA. Not exactly a good time to buy. Looking at the DWCPF, last nights closing price was 1014.39, which is above the 50 day but still below the 10 and 20 day. So to me, it appears there is more upside to being in the S Fund. And just to throw it out there, I touched on this in my thread, over the past 15 trading days the C Fund has posted a return of 0.77% while the S Fund was -1.88%. I interpret that as meaning the S Fund has gone through its pullback and is now primed for a nice run up while the C Fund is coming off a high of 1890.90 which occured on 2 Apr. So IMHO unless we get some negative news to mess up the springenwerks the potential for greater gains is with the S Fund.

Good morning, yes...I definitely agree S fund has more upside potential. I actually prefer S over C but I think I will stick with keeping 25% in C for now as that was part of my longer term buy strategy. I got my sticky pants on and don't plan to bolt unless I see some trending that shows we are moving into a down trend..not seeing that just yet but this run in the S fund will be critical...want to see this run hit a higher high than anything previously seen. I think it's definitely possible, but we do have earning reports coming out in another week or so...time will tell.....Best Wishes...DBANNIE. :)

Okay...so while I think market will continue upward, must admit today's action was a shaker! Confidence shaker! I'm considering bailing. Maybe go into I and F. The reason is beyond confidence. I don't like the technical indicators right now.

Regarding S fund, the 10 day EMA crossed the 50 EMA today...that is a major sell trigger for me. Also, in past couple weeks, I really should have not ignored the 10/20 EMA daily cross over that occurred on March 26 and April 4

I don't know DBA. Maybe I look at charts differently, but all I see are buying opportunities. I may switch my allocation from 100% S to 50% S and 50% C. Will see how things go this morning before deciding. Nice job on the charts!

I'm gonna hold my breath and stay in. Ugghhh..such a tough call... Well at least for today. Still don't like the indicators. If we make it thru this one fairly unscathed, I am going to make sure to define the entry and exit points more specifically to take emotions and guessing completely out go this. Still trying to keep a bright outlook! :)

P.S. Not sure id move to C more cuz it looks like it has more downside left as well.

So what exactly happens when a bird gets lassoed and what do you mean not always a happy ending? Why do I get the feeling I'm about to get flipped? I don't care if I am a mile behind. When I catch you, I'm buzzing the control tower...Raven out!!!

Now..now...let's not get too excited! I'm trying to be as gentle as I can here. If you can lasso a bird, which is not that easy, you either get him by the neck or the feet and make a "happy" meal!! ;) I'll be kind and save you from hearing the "unpleasantries"!!!

Now Raven, don't start thinking me so mean! I'm actually quite sweet!! I'm just funnin' with ya!! :) Hummm....buzzing the control tower???.....Hummm.... So............Are you attracted to female Buzzards???? :D hee hee hee hee... I feel plan "B" comin on!!

Ouuuuuuuuwwwww... the "dark" side has emerged!!! :( I thought I'd never see the scary Raven ---how very Poe -ish of you! Now don't you start reciting the tale tell heart or I'll really get creeped out !! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................. I don't like scary stories, and the market is spooky enough at this point!! BOO!!! :D

Now in all seriousness, until I see prices cross the BB mid-point and MACD positive, I think I'll sleep with one eye open, "The Judge" by my side, and my finger on the trigger. I don't like it, but I'm still thinking to bail tomorrow. :( Will see......

Yes indeed my seafaring companion, you have awoken the dark side. Now sit back and pay attention, as I spin you a tale of dark skies and rough seas...
