DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Thank you Whipsaw--you are too kind!

Just so you know, the "Gator Jaws" is not something I made up...lol  but I liked saying it! ... It is a pattern that D7's (Grok Trade) mentioned in his Trendline drawing course, which I took in August. He mentioned the specific pattern name and said and drew in how it looks like "alligator jaws"! So, I am definitely not claiming to be expert at all, but I did learn quite a bit about his way of doing things. He uses 3 sets of lines of which he rarely shows all of them on his videos.

Wish I had acted on that "gator" pattern the moment I saw it...saw it visually, but didn't draw it in as I thought maybe I was wrong...but it was in mind.. I ignored it to my detriment...ughhhh. Also the gains above pink line on C fund chart LOOK to be the head and shoulders breakout and that is what Ira Epstein's latest video shows....hummm..humbug! I thought there would be more upside to that formation. Silly me!

Charts...
so yesterday was ugly.. ..but I stuck in. Reassessing.. very close to 13EMA crossing below 20SMA, mid-point if Bollinger band (ie purple line getting close to crossing below pink dotted line). That cross over is my last ditch exit point, if I follow my strategy. Hope that crossover doesn't s hit today by noon or will seriously need to consider a last minute exit. Will see... personally I still think some of this is overblown, but what do I know....:dunno:

The C fund did break a major trendline (blue)... while S fund broke below the shorter term line(pink), but its price action is still within the longer term rising wedge (blue lines).. so still hopeful about S fund. I'm only in S fund 35%.

Here are charts but these are longer term...same trend lines. Hope you can see them. We are still within longer term (blue) trend lines, but we did break through bottom of the shorter term rising wedge.... hummm... maybe those gator Jaws are in play! I deleted those from charts last week (post 3138). should have exited as soon as I saw themmm...last Thursday! ... ugghhh...the chomp down continues and futures down more than 500pts right now... :worried: oh... and the big boys are exiting...ithor exited Friday and more exited Monday and Tuesday...where's the damn door? Not to scare anyone but I think we get GDP numbers on Thursday... good or bad, will market go up on good number??

Latest charts... Looks like S fund is holding at that long term support line... but that is scary! C Fund has dropped well beyond it but holding at 100day Moving average.

Meant to go to G on Friday last week and got distracted and when it went down I kept waiting for one decent up day that never came. Looks like I’m “in” now. (Fortunately only 10 each C & S.) Retirement date end of year so was conservative anyhow. But I was looking to pad the account; not subtract. Then again....aren’t we all?!

Really must debate if I exit at all... Stochastics now below 20...so that's a buy signal IF there us something to indicate the bottom has been hit. Will see tomorrow.

Best wishes to everyone* !!! Hard to smile but... here goes.. :D:D:D

Finally back below where I pulled all my money out.. Yep I'm a genius.. Follow me for more money advice... (lol. Just put it on a mattress)..

End of Day charts...its Ugly! But WOW! That long-term trendline on S Fund actually held! Howabunga!!

Not sure why charts sometimes display and at other times do not, and must click on them....:scratchchin: Hoping these display...ahhh...they do...

Okay, so BOTH charts show that 13 EMA dropped below 20SMA today...finally.... that is a drop dead exit signal under my strategy, and its a huge drop....geez...I have never waited on that indicator...typically use Stochastic dropping below 80 (which happened on Friday). Yet, with such a clear exit signal, I am hesitating because its dropped so much...and I am doing what I should not... I am "hoping" and that can be dangerous. :( Hoping we are close to a bottom, but still 6 days until election, not sure there will be a clear winner, but seems the Chinese virus continues to play havoc with the World!

Is this drop a knee jerk reaction? Dare I ask, could we be heading towards a W recovery?? Thanks AH China!
Also, if the anarchist don't like the results next week, get ready for violence. This Texan's got food, extra supplies, toilet paper, plenty ammo and weapons ready and if things break down too much, I have a full tank ready to head to my uncle's ranch out in the boonies!. :D

I tried to enter a comment yesterday; but, for some reason it did not post.
Dreamboat. congratulations on your impending retirement and sorry to see you go. I hope you continue to comment on tsptalk. I have five more years at least myself. i'm optimistic long term.
I'm thinking this is indeed a buy point; but, I also think lots of volatility ahead. the market action is not following the technicals right now - just knee jerk reactions to news, uncertainties - fear buying and selling and businesses pricing in handouts that don't materialize when they should just be practicing good business. so, what I'm saying is I would follow the long term indicators; but, don't let short term reactions scare you because they don't fall in line. whether you want to buy or sell but think you lost the timing - with this market it will be coming back around shortly just hang on.

Thank You for the encouragement mmk119...it's much appreciated!!

I'm still holding! Best wishes to you and everyone* on your Investments!!!

PS..I likely will not retire for another year or two... no telling...will see...
