Cowboys Account Account Talk

Cowboy,

Easy now, I have an alternate idea. Let's you and I invite our friend Pyriel to BrokeBack Mountain and when he arrives we'll give him a long and warm squeez. That'll take us all back to the zero line and we'll be ready for the next momentum bounce. I need help looking for the next top.

Birchy getting flexible....

European stocks soared, completing a third consecutive year of gains, but investors are worried 2006 might not be as strong. Last year was a very good year, with exceptionally good performance from healthy profit growth. European shares will rise only about 6% to 8% in 2006. European stocks were pushed up, with strong commodity prices underpinning the surging shares of companies in the oil and mining sectors. European markets in 2006 won't have a bad year, but not as stellar as 2005. Profit growth is currently good and will start the year strong, but then it will decelerate. European companies might only have modest revenue growth, which will keep share-price increases modest. I know this sounds like The Technician , but I regard myself as a contrary bull. Take care.

U coming my way Birch...I'm honored...;) ..you getting flexible on me in investing???? What am I going to do...... But don't include me in on that BrokeBack Mountain stuff.....

LOL! I seemed to have gotten under the moderators skin and didn't even notice it on this new board! LOL! Sorry I don't have the cash you got Pyriel but u never know maybe someday i'll make it. I may be poor but that doesn't mean I am not happy! I went into US stocks today 50% C and 50% S and I plan to make some cash hopefully again this year but I also know that it is not how u start a game it is how you finish it that will count. That means any type of savings when u retire will be beneficial. Using borrowed money can be exciting but also you lose some independence when things go sour. Thats when the lender shoves his hands in your pants and hopes to find change and of course if that lender is of the opposite sex, things could get raunchy! Do u follow me rich boys? LOL!!

I agree with Rod when he jumps he has been a day early! See money doesn't care if your a man of the cloth, you just hope you have cloth on your back to put it in. Don't worry though Rod the man above will provide as he always has in the past. I am 100% S today! By the way the moderators must not have liked my comments yesterday or someone cause I lost like 2 stars! Waaa!Waaa! LOL! Well if thats I lose I'll be a happy camper! LOL!!

willie nelson

Hey Cowboy.....did you read the news on Willie Nelsons latest song....I'm afraid he has fallen through the cracks and going to hellllll.....he's joined the consortium to try to break the manhood image of the American Cowboy.

They never will be to accomplish this, but they will accomplish what we all know about this consortium....they confirm that they are the trash of the country....maybe they should be included in with Al G.;)

Slick Willie!

To me Willie is nothing more then a musician who has capitalized on the economics of the American farmer. He is not what I would even consider a Cowboy as the Hollywood guru's would like you to believe. He is a tax dodger and uses fund raisers to line his pockets and the only reason he is still working is because financially he is broke. He is a sad case of a person who is spending more money then he makes, or paint themselves as someone they are not, another example is Michael Jackson. Just my $.02. I have not read any news on this guy and do not seek it out either.

I will be 50% S & 50% I by COB today 2/17/06. This move is basically just a leverage move in the big plan of things! I figure we will have more good days ahead but if not I wont be setting all S on Monday if the market tanks. This Bull is pretty much a straight runner and Tuesday may be a pull out day. If I fund does not make a move and goes lower I may buy it up! If they both move up it is time to get out the trick riding rope and lope along with both! If they are bears I'll keep hunting and hopefully Tuesday a mount for the den will be available.

I am brand new to this forum and it looks very interesting. I have been invested in the TSP since around 1989 and have done very well, I think.

I have a question about the moving around of money that yall seem to be doing. I am curious how often you move your money around in your TSP. I am under the impression that it takes at least 2 days to realize a move and sometimes that is long enough for momentum to change based on a large number of factors.

Personally, I am invested half and half in the I and S funds and have been for about 6 months. Before that, I was 40/30/30 in the C/S/I for at least a year. I tend to be a long term investor where it concerns the TSP and have to have more than just a little momentum to move me off.

thanks, Mike

Welcome! Some members here post all their moves in their account talk threads, like this one. If you look back through their threads you can track the frequency of their moves that way. Generally, if you use the TSP.gov site online and put in instructions for an interfund transfer before noon Eastern Standard Time, that transfer will be done at the closing prices at the end of the same day.

Oldschool.

Oldschool is correct and I thank him for answering your question. On weekends I usually just forget about everything and relax. I hope you keep managing your account Mikelong! It is one of the keys to success.

I will be 100% I fund tomorrow! I would have posted 15 minutes ago but the program froze on me! I think our markets are in good shape but may be starting to peak in the US market but only time will tell. I just want to play I fund because I have a hunch the dollar may drop short term.

I have went all L income as of COB today! I am trying to work a system where I am using the L income instead of the G fund at this time. All markets are higher today but in my opinion will not reach back to their peaks unless it is I fund and at peaks it is hard to read from day to day. I am going to watch a week or so but if one of these funds make a drastic move again I will be moving again. If we get any type of move that shows the funds are not ranging then Ill be back in but it appears as though they will start declining again in my opinion.

Just Cowboy Up!!!!! For those that are not familiar with the term it means to tough it out! When a cowboy is down we tell him to Cowboy up. That is basically all I am doing.

"Cowboy! Cowboy! There is a bear in the berry patch!" "Yep sure looks like a bear." " Well aren't you going to get your gun and put his hide in the sittin room!" "Nope only do that in the fall of the year." "What we going to do, Cowboy!" "Let him eat, it is Spring and after hybernating, he is awful hungry and most likely very dangerous and looking for food. Let him snoop around some and hopefully he will leave. He'll most likely find the trash and eat it and anything else in his way. Then we can scare him off when he has ate his fill." "What you going to do in the mean time." "Take a nap." "Hey honey you feel like cozing up!" "Wooooh! Cowboy!"

Oh, oh, Cowboy. I think that there bear's been sharpening his claws on yonder birch tree. :)

I am going 75% F, 25% S by COB today! I have been setting F and have not done much for moving the last month. I have been watching the market but have not moved though. I have not been to TSP talk for a while as I have been busy. I may start moving again if I get some time to do so. Would of been nice to be playing in April but seemed to been missing the cut off time daily to make a move. Hi to everyone!!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Newyear!!!!! I have not been on line for some time and remain busy most of the time! I still have been making moves but not posting. Sorry just no time. Been a while since I been on but I will let you in on a little cowboy etiquette:

Allow that others
make mistakes now and then
--unless you want to be
the only one who
ever tangles his spurs.

Cowboy did just fine in 2006 and hopes 2007 does just as well. Beam me up Scotty!!
