It continues to amaze me how easily talking heads use the term "hair cuts" to describe losses that bondholders will have to accept in Europe. And how easily the US electorate has forgotten the "hair cuts" forced by their own government on GM secured bondholders. I guess if the European governments force the "hair cuts" gradually iinstead of suddenly, it's presumed that trading the instruments gradually spreads the losses. But somewhere, someone is making out like a bandit.

My mother just returned from the Tuscany area about a month ago. She flew over for some kind of cooking school tour where she learned how to make various Italian dishes from different chefs at several towns.

Looks like she had good timing.

I guess the wife and I will have to rethink that Italy trip we were looking at.

About 3 years ago we saw a tour through Traflagar Tours that took you all around Italy. So we have been setting aside a little here and there. Not that we think it wouldn't be safe but with all the other stuff going on right now another year or two won't make that much of a difference and it will allow us to put some more money away. :D
