Thanx for the good read - I plan to wade in further and keep buying to rebuild my oceanic account with income producers. Let the volatility continue to keep everyone scared - just fine with me.

That's how I look at it with respect to my ROTHs. I've been ramping up high yield corporate bonds, financials, dividend paying large caps, REIT, and stodgy old utilities to name a few.

Steve Jobs was a visionary, but he was not a genius. He did not design the hardware but he did use the talent he surrounded himself with to make that vision come to life. It takes all kinds of talents, genius, and visionaries to make Apple the society and tech changer it became. It all started when Steve Jobs saw the Xerox presentation of the GUI interface with the mouse control and he 'saw' the future and ran with it. Thanks the muses that he did and thank all the engineers, marketers and managers who made this happen under Steve Jobs enlightened vision. Thank the government for allowing the freedom of the internet and the software/hardware tech industry.

And thanks to Xerox for not suing Apple over the "theft" of their GUI.

You can't patent an idea. It wasn't theft. It was a lack of vision by the managers of Xerox. The engineers didn't want to show this tech to Steve and Bill, but the managers were narrowly focused on the printer/copier business and were not looking to expand into computer interfaces. I'm still unclear as to why Steve and Bill were touring Xerox, but history would be different if that day had not happened.

Also thanks those who had the skills to reverse engineer software apps. :D
