coolhand's Account Talk

Tomorrow - and at least next week - will be a very odd time. How will da'Boyz react?

Interesting times, huh Boghie? :)

I've never messed up an IFT, but I can see how easy it might be to do it. Especially as my short term memory continues to shorten. :cheesy:

I'm wondering just what inside info S&P has, considering they peddled all the MBS & CDS garbage as AAA rated.
Do they know the banks are even more insolvent than the cash cows QE1 & QE2 can resolve?
Hmmm...
Perhaps an early Monday morning subpoena would persuade some birdies to sing...
oh... that's right - TBTF!
Silly me, what am I thinking.

Some comments from Mark Young. He's looking for a rally at any time. It could be a big one too. But be aware, he's speaking to much shorter term traders in general, so you have to adjust the context to fit our TSP restrictions.

Hi Coolhand,

Who is Mark Young? I am not familiar with him. Also, did the 7 Sentinels guru provide an update after yesterday's action?

Thanks, I appreciate your updates!

He runs the Trader's Talk website and has his own sentiment analysis service. He's very sharp, but like everyone else, isn't always right. Still, he's a professional and I always like to hear what he has to say.

Don hasn't posted anything substantial since my last link to his comments. He also has his own premium service, so he tends to hand out commentary sparingly.

In essence, we have the sentiment and set-up for a big rally. That's what me and Tom, and some others have been looking for. If it doesn't fall apart, it could go longer than some realize. Be aware of how this "may" play out.

It probably means the upside will be tempered and it could take that much longer to establish a longer term low. That's partially why I'm only looking out about 2 weeks max. If I see a selling opportunity along the way, I'll be selling.

Actually, if I had known how the markets would close today, I would have taken something off the table. I think most of us realize how hard it's going to be to lock in any gains in this market. We could just as easily snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with that 1200 deadline.

There was a trader that came on TV last night and said he wouldn't be surprised to see a 700 or 800 point rally that would rip hearts out of the chests of bears - I almost fell off my couch with glee.

Once the S&P 500 clears 1200, I'll be thinking about doing some selling. But this market could shoot much higher than that. I'm only looking out to about mid-week next week. And the picture changes fast, so it's really day to day depending on the what the market does. And even thought the Seven Sentinels remain firmly on an intermediate term sell, they still look short term bullish.

Getting closer to a short term exit point, do you have a target in mind?
