coolhand's Account Talk

If it's now on CNBC then it has completely been factored in to the market. Consider it nothing more than a headline on a newspaper.

Coolhand, the complacency is back once again. Greece, Spain... one step away from a blow up but investors want to continue piling in. So symbolic of that day in July 2007 that we got wind of two Bear Sterns Hedge Funds that blew up related to the housing crisis. What happened to Dubai's debt problems? That news seems to have been swept under the carpet, but I have a feeling it's coming back again sooner than later.

Yeah, anything being broadcast on CNBC is toast. It's no longer news. All this stuff will still take time to play out, but eventually when enough gamblers are long the hammer will fall.

Three indicators to watch?

From your previous link three indicators to watch. I don't read Karl unless it's Rove.

1. Macro-Economic Deterioration: LEI is still improving.

2. Monetary Deterioration: Interest rates are steady.

3. Technical Deterioration: Important technical indicators have not given any warning signals yet. "This strongly supports my interpretation that the recent stock market retreat is nothing more than a harmless correction."

I'll sure be glad when you guys turn bullish. Can't you smell the sweet smell of superlative bull manure that is wafting the board?

You had me at Rove. See, you were doing just fine until you brought that rat's name into the conversation. That embarassment of a human being should be serving chow to the 82nd Airborne Division.

We will never surrender! The only thing you will be smelling soon is the putrid smell of rotting bull corpses!

Eeek. I used to work in that Oakland Federal Building, affectionately called the "Taj Mahal"....Oakland can be a little scary, but not THAT scary. :cheesy:

I wonder what kind of training they'll have to go through? They aren't law enforcement so this looks like it could go south in a big way under the right circumstances. :worried:

The last five vehicles I've purchased have been three Hondas and two Toyotas. This evening I'm going to be looking at a 2010 Chevy Malibu LTZ (their highest trim level) with the 4cyl eng. and 6-speed transmission. Lots of bells and whistles too.

I didn't think I'd ever buy an American car again, but this one is rated very favorably by notable critics.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this vehicle? Other thoughts?

You may find that the leg room in the back seat is too cramped. Other than that, there are no negs on this car. One of GM's best efforts!

That is one of the few areas that were mentioned in the reviews I saw. Shouldn't be a problem for my wife though (it'll be her car). Thanks James.

No prob, had a good friend pass on one because he's got two kids (bigger) to haul around. Bought a Camry instead, bad gas pedal and all

BTW, what's your position on tommorrow? Thx

The wife drives a 2003 Malibu and loves it. Great get-up-and-go. Have you looked at the new Ford Taurus. Great looking body. Not sure about the inside features.
