coolhand's Account Talk

Very interesting re: current positions of investors which are part of TT.

I will be jumping ship at COB today hoping to exit on a small daily gain. There was just to much good news last week which was overlooked in favor of the very limited bad news. The reluctness of the marker to move higher when there was justification to do so concerns me. Furthermore, I do not see any news coming on the horizon to shake sentiment.

With a current PIP of 12.18% and a personal exit floor of 10%, it was time to bail. One must live to fight another day.

I know it's early, but I couldn't access the TSP website by computer or phone this morning.

Better get on the phone for those who don't want sand thrown in their eyes any further.

Just called. A recorded voice says that 'the computers are down from 9am to 3pm due to scheduled maintance. Thankyou'

Is the crash scheduled for today?

THEY scheduled maintenance during the ONLY hours we are allowed to enter THEIR hallowed gates????
Sounds like good fodder for one more IFT, and make that one closer to Bell Time !!!!
Sheesh !!!:notrust:

Looks like I will be a forced buy and holder today. Sure glad someone's looking out for my financial well-being.

This is either going to be a Good thing or a Bad thing. I would like to think It's a Blessing in Disguise but It does worry me. I was tending toward pulling Half of my position. :(

well - actually- their site says NO scheduled outage today: http://tsp.gov/account/scheduled_outage.html
And when trying to access they say it is a glitch:

...so they need to get their act together so the phone message doesn't cause (some) of us to go ballistic...! :o
....so - maybe we can keep a close watch in the next 45 min to see if it is fixed.....

I realize it may work out, but the implications of loss of control over ones account makes me .

I've been trying to slow down my market moves in recent months. I had realized I was making too many trades too quickly. I was not letting the market decide.

I wanted to get back to the days of four or five trades a year ;)

So, I moved some to safety a little while back. And, given we are just a few days from new IFTs I was thinking of moving to a 50/50 allocation. Not all in, not all out. Play with 20% - 30% of the holdings. Seems to be reasonable...

And, still going to hold the BirchTree allocation in my equities holdings... Very much like that allocation.

However, I guess it doesn't matter.

Kinda like the days when you had to mail your allocation request in, eh :(
