College Football 2009-2010

Now you're talking, lets play at the Big House, Horse Shoe and for obvious reasons Happy Valley. But bring your snow mobile:D
It's not like they don't have snow blowers.
Of course where the bowls are played they have hotel accomadations that can easily handle all the fans who show up 4 days early. Minor problem, we'll have tent cities for a true fan experience.

The Big 10 reigns! I am impressed. The Rose Bowl, I picked Oregon, but the team is a bunch of thugs. At least Ohio State has character. Congrats to Jim Tressel on another great season.

As far as the playing conditions.... That's football!!!!! The NFL is babied with domes and artificial turf. Play the game it was meant to be played. Bring on the bowl games in the icy cold, snowy winter. The heck with football in Hawaii and Florida when I've got snow coming down.

I am a PSU fan. I'm not sure they would have had time or not. I actually thought the refs could have called offsetting penalties and replayed the down. Possibly a delay of game but when the LSU player grabbed him I believe that negated any chance of that.
Time running down, no time outs you never ever run up the middle where you know it is going to create a big pile of players that are going to need untangled. Then the fumble at the 35.

It was interesting

Buster,
To me thats football but when you stake a claim to have the bowl in your city and your stadium for eternity the least you could do is have that field look like the best stage these kids have played on all year. I guarantee LSU and PSU stadiums would have been lights out. They deserve it.
True....Hell of a last 57 seconds though..What the hell did LSU's 94(?) do?..jumped in and started pulling on the guy from PSU so they could spike?..I didn't understand that..Man, I'll bet his ass is grass after that 15 yard penalty...otherwise LSU may have made it to field goal range...I think the officials called it right anyways..:worried:

The owners of the stadium in Orlando should give back any money they made off of the LSU-PSU game. Two great historic programs and your excuse for the field conditions was rain and we had to play 8 HS playoff games recently. Embarassing.

Congrats to both schools for making it interesting and no body being seriously injured in those conditions.
Good job to FSU players for sending out Coach Bowden in a fitting manner even if your school officials could not.

No Kidding..The field looked like a mud puddle..

PAC-10 season officially over:

2 of 7 in Bowl games

Their 2 victories- 1 against the MAC and 1 against the ACC. Impressive:laugh:

Between the Big12 and the Mountain West they got hammered.

Will it be seven straight this year? I pick Oregon tonight.

How Many Beatings Can They Take?

In the Rose Bowl, Big Ten teams have dropped six straight—tied for its longest Pasadena losing streak ever. The conference has also lost its last six Bowl Championship Series games and is just 13-23 in bowl games since the 2004 season. That's the worst winning percentage (.361) of the six major football conferences.

It's going to be a close Heisman vote this year.

- Gerhart: Stanford has a weak schedule, but he carried this team. I didnt' really hear much about him until towards the end of the season.
- Ingram: Don't forget, he's only a sophomore. Solid all season long, less carries than Gerhart.
- McCoy: Great team, plenty of offensive weapons. Won 3 awards last night.
- Suh: I honestly don't know enough about this guy. He's being hyped pretty hard though with his tackles and sacks.
- CJ Spiller: I don't know what happened to this guy. Lots of mid season hype but Gerhart took the limelight towards the end.

I openly vote for Colt McCoy. Who are you voting for?

I would have liked to see McCoy win. But then again I am Big 12 guy.

Brian Kelly takes ND head coach position and leaves his kids in the dust as they compete for the Sugar Bowl. What a jerk. This exemplifies America. Me, Me, Me- It's all about me. It's all about my promotion. What difference does 2 weeks make anyway in recruiting? Why can't he coach Cincy in the Sugar Bowl? What's he afraid of hurting his reputation? ND's recruiting base is so small because they can't sign gangsta's, hoodlum's or HS dropouts and the ones who go to ND pretty much plan on going there from the gate.

Everyone thinks Kelly is going to turn ND into the Texas Longhorns. Give me a break. Notre Dame is Notre Dame. They'll get favoritism in the polls to start the season, but without Tate and Claussen, there isn't much else. He's got a high reputation to hold on to and let's hope his welcome speech isn't over-promising like Weiss's was. Weiss sealed his own coffin as soon as he signed and said, ".500 is unacceptable."

Truth of it is, ND lost a lot of close games this year. The losses to Stanford and Navy were atrocious though. As negative as I sound in the matter, I do watch most Notre Dame games, but let's not blow this team's abilities out of proportion here.

But if you read the fine print it's more about getting money to different schools other than the majors than a playoff system. The "bill" is also about stripping the BCS title game from claiming 'National Championship'. As much as I love sports, I can't believe some idiot is concocting legislation to fix NCAAF during this economic mess.

I have a feeling the TCU/Boise game isn't going to get much of a draw.

Government: Stay away from college football. You already botched the steroids thing in baseball. Don't try to fix this. Please.
