College Football 2008-2009

Mizu 3 loses and ranked 20th and still going to Big 12 Championship.

I say do away with North and South.

I would love to see OU TX.

Happy for my Sooners!

Go Big Red!

#2 OU plays #20 Mizzou next Saturday at the Big 12 Championship

In the end, overall body of work outweight head-to-head results.
Oklahoma's blowout win over Oklahama State vaulted the Sooners to No. 2 in the Bowl Championship Series standings released Sunday afternoon, ahead of a Texas team that defeated them by 10 points earlier this season.
Moving to second place enabled the Sooners (11-1, 7-1) to win a three-way tiebreaker with Texas (11-1, 7-1) and Texas Tech (11-1, 7-1) in the Big 12 South and sends the Sooners to play Missouri (9-3) in the league's championship game this Saturday.
The Big 12 uses BCS rankings as its tiebreaker.
Alabama (12-0) remained No. 1 in the standings, while Florida (11-1) stayed at No. 4. Those two will face off Saturday for the Southeastern Conference championship, with the winner likely to play in the BCS Championship Game on Jan 8 in Miami. A Florida victory over the No. 1-ranked team would seem to push the Gators ahead of Texas because the Longhorns would have the opportunity for another game.
The SEC representative's opponent is likely to come from the Big 12. That would be Oklahoma if the Sooners beat Missouri. However, a Missouri victory likely would give Texas a repreive and send the Longhorns to Miami.
Fifth-ranked USC (10-1) would seem to be the odd-man out even if the Trojans crush UCLA on Saturday to capture the Pac-10 title.

Whole family getting over pneumonia.

The cure? One in the "W" column for the ramblin' wreck!!!!

alabama - florida gonna be a good one.

don't count mizzou out just yet. but I see the SEC vs. Big 12 champ for the national title this year. How can you not call the winner of that the national champion?

--- too bad UVA didn't finish off VT.... there's always next year for the yellow jackets. Man! the ACC is gonna be strong top to bottom next year -- could be the 3rd best conference again next year.

Hope your feeling better. Nothing like a win over them ther' Dawgs to make you fell alright. Boy did Virginia let it slip away!

By the way, if you guys haven't been asleep for the past year or two, and if a couple of QBs declare for the NFL, this might be another attempt at the greatest QB draft ever.

You got OU's Bradford, UT's McCoy, UM's Daniel, TT's Harrell and UGA's Stafford and UF's Tebow as the cream of the crop then you got the second tier guys that aren't half bad. I know there's no such thing as a "can't miss" but some really talented arms (as well as pretty good leaders) are leaving the college ranks (sad for us college fans but good for the NFL).

OU-61 OSU-41

Now I hope the poor sportsmanship of the Longhorns will cease..During the Texas and A&M game Thursday, some jerk punk handed out signs to all the Texas fans, that read the ending score of the Texas and OU game..45-35 (the only game OU lost)..Then flew today over Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater OK, with a banner behind a plane that said 45-35 and that it was on neutral turf...Well Dallas (Cotton Bowl) is hardly what any normal person except a Longhorn fan, would call neutral..since it's still in Texas ain't it?..So LongHorns, Suck it up and stop being a poor winner..OU and Alabama for National is now a reality..deal with it!

I can stand that little arrogant, cocky, buttwipe Chase Daniels..He is no longer a threat for winning the Heisman either..I'm so glad Mike Mangino won this one ....and it was a last minute nail biter too..

Frickin Auburn didn't even come to the game against Alabama ..geezzzz

Unbelievable, GT over Georgia.

Shootout with Missouri/Kansas today. I still like Chase Daniel at quarterback even though Missouri has had their melt downs.

OU sure kept the pressure on Harrell with the blitz last week.

Is Charlie Weis's job on the rocks? I really think USC could blow out Notre Dame by 35-40 points this week. I don't know what it is that management of Notre Dame athletics expects year in and year out. Why would somebody go to Notre Dame to play football and have to put up with the academic standards? Sure you get the TV contract, but nowadays if you play for a good team, you'll get half of your games televised anyway. Besides, just figure if you truly believe that football is your destiny, you'd be better served at a Big 12 or SEC team with hopes that you go pro after your junior year.

I like Charlie Weis. I think he's getting shafted if he gets fired, but then again, his predecessors got the boot for very similar records.

Thing I noticed about OU this past game, was that they got there stuff together on ther specialty team (kickoff defense return team)...TT never got past the 40 yard mark on any kickoff to them (and there was a bunch)..that was the one thing that lost it for OU during the Texas game.

I'm going to guess Oklahoma 45 Okla St. 24...

Okla St. can at least run the ball, so their clock management will hold Oklahoma to only 45!

Yeah, I am pretty sure the Big-12 division ties are decided by BCS rankings (after some others that don't apply) so Oklahoma could be in the driver's seat with a win. Texas fans would be livid!

Whoever does goto the Big-12 championship still has to win that game... I wonder if a Big-12 team could goto the National Title game, and not even have gone to their conference title game?!

Polls are out. Oklahoma jumped Florida and TX took the roll of #2.

If Oklahoma blow Oklahoma State out of the water this week, watch Oklahoma take the #2 spot.

1. Alabama
2. TX
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida
5. USC

Can we all make sure Virginia beats Virginia Tech this weekend! Oh, and watch my Jackets beat the Dawgs.

I sure wish OK and TX could battle it out again for the Big 12 Championship. They definitely need to make some changes to the system.

OK is a better team than TX. Yes we lost to them but it wouldn't happen again. They say the game that is played is in natural territory but its not, it’s in TX. TX Tech beat TX, and Oklahoma crushed TX Tech and Oklahoma State almost beat TX. So if Oklahoma crushes Oklahoma State next week, I am sorry TX but it will be Oklahoma going to the Big 12 Championship.
