Disney's Love Bug actor Dean Jones dies at 84 - BBC News

I remember him most from That Darn Cat! Godspeed!

This is no celebrity but a depiction of a three year old little boy who drowned crossing the Mediterranean Sea. He was found washed ashore face down as if in just peacefully sleeping. I am sure you've seen the actual heart wrenching photographs. He had a name, Aylan Kurdi. Rest in Peace little one. :31:

We lost a good one there. He was so colorful and around so long that I thought maybe he was a fictional character that would live forever.

I went to a Mets game when I was 9 years old and some friends and I carried a big banner around Shea Stadium that we made from a bed sheet that said, "Like Gil Hodges, Yogi Berra too, will pull the Mets through in 1972!" :)

That was in reference to Gil Hodges managing the 1969 Mets to a World Series win, but he died right before opening day in 1972 at age 48.

Great story!

He was also at Normandy!

Without trying, he became much bigger than his field. Most people nowadays probably only think of his famous quotes when they think of him, but his accomplishments were many. Wannabe-celebrities would pay huge to have the level of fame and universal love that came to him naturally.

I really liked Flip Saunders as a coach, sucks to see him go. Know he's been around coaching for around 35 years it said, and even did it right up 'til the end. R.I.P. Flip.
