Carnac's Corner

Hmmphhhh! Back to say a piece.

Markets steady climbing on a daily basis right now...that's good.

I have seen some comments about the summer market action...thought I should look into it and see what the CB's say....initially, I lean toward an adjustment in the summer.

Thanks Tech the summer is always an unknown for me, let me know when you figure it out.
Nice to hear from you again!:D

CB's tell me the last couple of weeks in May looks iffy.....I wouldn't be betting the house in June either....10-15% down if nothing comes up in the news that's devastating.

Of course if we go broke...all is off the table....

I've got 1460's targeted in the S&P if we get there without any money problems. Not counting the world issues today....

Given that the US economy needs a boost after the last 15-20 years of supporting the world, we should see that rebound coming.

OUr DEBT is troublesome no doubt...inflationary at least. But this superficial hike in oil prices to support a upcoming technology "Green tech" is hurting our recovery....right now, we need to quit excess spending...its just the smart thing to do unless it will make us money in the future....(good investments).

Lets see if we get some sort of break out without the guys in Wash wasting our monthly obligations (taxes).

Carnac

Thanks Tom,

How's the family? The Board? and so forth...I see people here have been doing well on that rebound some time ago....that's good.

Things are sort of shaky eh??? If everyone who wants to live off the taxpayer would get out of their pocket, we could have a nice rebound, but it looks to be a hard hill to climb.

You know the CB's are telling me we could get a little pop for the next couple of days.....today we reached levels I thought we would reach at eom, we should see 1333 or above soon.......we should be breaking above 1344 by mid or late April.....

but again that depends on the guys in Washington....do we or do we not realize we're borrowing 8 billion/day right now....sometime soon this madness has to stop....we don't have the economic rebound debt that we had years ago to inflate our economy so the debt looks smaller.....

I've been in the I fund since mid March....it was showing a trend to have the most maximium return between C,S,I at that time.........trend should start to show the S for max return for a while, starting when, I'm not sure yet

looking for a little break, then we will see which way to go.....

Carnac

Looking at the Crystal Ball's and its iffy....

I just flipped to G...expecting a 1-2% correction for a few days if not more due to the govt funding issues next week....

Good luck.

Carnac

Yes, I went 100% to the "G" today. Looking for a bump down within a couple of days, currently at about 3% for the year, 1% a month isn't all that bad so going to protect it until the trend makes it over resistance. CP!

I have been popping over the 9% level for the year all week and I have missed a few percent more last month playing it safe....but its all say so until proven....but I'm not here to prove anything to anyone or make money off ya...just being a bit of a help.

Happy Birthday Norman!

Rubbing the CB's again, looking for the future. Taking in the culture, avoiding the vultures .........hmm, sounds like a hit single to me.:)

Ok, back to real life and onward....

Lets see if we get that reprieve here over the next several days....I'm looking for the S&P to settle around 1315 to 1321.....if we don't go into some serious diving due to lack of fiscal responsibility.

The great and wonderful Carnac. Quotes like this are why you have this name. Back in 2006ish when I was a lurker and didn't have time to look too often, I enjoyed your mid-term and long term calls looking into the future. I remember when were well above the 50/50 line when making predictions with the CB's. I wish to welcome you back and I think a lot of people will bennifit from your calls, especially when we get past all this doom and gloom news events of the last few months. You are a good forecaster as I recall.

Thanks Bill:)

I thank you for the compliment, I wasn't keeping count...as a matter of fact, I'm thinking that there is alot of room for improvment in my research and methods....I have missed some lately, been getting out too early lately...but then again, I'm cautious right now.....

Thanks again!

CB's getting an itch to jump in the S today...S has been out performing I for the last couple of weeks and is now prime for a move up....so we jumped in... albeit may be a short term move till end of month.

I guess the low end of the S&P (below 1300) may or may not still show up...but the govt has settled its funding for now.

Its a limited shot in the dark.
