burros-ark update: shoot. nobody is moving. except turtle who is busy stacking his less than 1% pennies and kangaroo who knocked off +1% last week. everybody else is hiding under their rock, again. we need to get this thing moving.

burros-ark signal: crap. i don't know what to think. every part of me says the 3rd week in a row of negative ark sentiment means jump in don't think. but the world is messed up, everybody wants to kill each other or is jockeying for position to kill each other later. gold is fast becoming worthless, oil is cheap but that's because nobody is investing or producing anything and don't need no more energy, the bankers and politicians are up to their usual tricks, and for sure it is all going to tank on monday. crap

ahhh screw it. buy contrarion buy. may i live to regret it. the negative nellies are just too strong. maybe they are wrong, maybe they are right. if they are right this is going to hurt. bad. buy.

this is one of those days i am glad i have a system to follow. if it was my account that made the decision on saturday to buy in, i would be very tempted to reverse that call prior to the ift deadline, maybe after watching the initial action after the open, and then run screaming into the doom and gloom woods and rend my rainment and curse god or something.

but that is not how the system works. the system was designed to make a decision based on available information and activity over the weekend, and to hold that call for at least an entire week, only trading in or out on mondays, no exceptions. it is actually that 'restriction' that has led to better results from the system than i am getting in my personal account which i can trade willy nilly at whim, i just haven't been feeling very whimmy lately this year is all.

so i am sticking with the system buy, come hell or high water. and if the markets dumps and the system loses then i hope it drops hard in a big grand fashion as those type of events are great learning experiences. regardless, burros-ark generates a signal on weekends, trades on mondays, and holds fast to path.

this should be a fun week. who knows what tomorrow brings?

oh no! it was up, then it went down. then up and down, again. then it was up. now it's going doooowwwnnnnn! lol. apparently they are programming the algorythms with a sick sense of humor these days. it's almost like being married, except this way you might actually get to keep some of your money. wheeeee!

the market is a fickle mistress.

Burro, did the ark buy in today. I still see it as 100% G on the Tracker? Thanks.

FS

no, the ark did not buy in today. it bought in saturday becauses that's when the signal generated, although the trade won't be effective until close of business today. it has something to do with the fake paper trades in non-existant proxy securitues rule only processed if placed at least 4 hours prior to the ending market bell in order to preserve and protect blackrock's favored no bid contract granted by gov officials to connected and well-placed friends in exchange for kickbacks and steak lunches and scotch. these sometimes are refered to as 'processing fees' or 'the cost of doing business' but more colloquially known as 'greg long's vacation fund'. you can tell by going to the 'members recent trades' page on the autotracker which shows i made the trade at about 1:00 o'clock on saturday. i'm not quite sure if it was 1:00 am or 1:00 pm on saturday because i was equally awake, logged into the website, and skunk drunk at both times in question.

things happen for a reason i guess.

well, cutting it a bit thin, but so far this trade is heading in the right direction i think. it has me nervous so i hope the wheels stay on the train at least until the weekend when we can reassess.

aawww, dang it. i just had to go and open my big mouth.

burros-ark update: well the system went a little backwards this week which is too bad because it was just ahead of the looming breakout by -1% but that is not too heavy of a hit to take for the potential opportunity. it seems that many think the good ole usa has some positive market life in it yet while the rest of the world is crashing down and looking for who owns their knickers. with the political climate and markets both heating up, i can only think in terms of the race.

burros-ark signal: buy. el vira is at 19% and exposure is 52%, a major switch from the last 3 week's extreme pessimism readings so get in. buy. the ones who bought in early last week took a negative 1% hit, but a couple snuck in on friday with no loss and are positioned well. kangaroo has 2/3 of a nice in-out-in run going here, if this trade follows through that will be pushing up the leaderboard high. wheee, let the games begin! buy.

burros-ark update: the system is still down about a half a percent from where it got in a couple weeks ago, which isn't too bad all things considered, but that's a whole lot of risk to absorb for a long while and not make anything on it. kangaroo made the best-timed trade in and keeps gaining ground while hawk has sat tight and protected nice gains for what seems like forever with no trades, he can just about sit in g fund all the rest of the year and pull close to 12%. blackbird is the only one who moved in and nobody jumped out, but the problem with wading in only half way is that it's deep enough to freeze your nuts but not enough to get your whole body acclimated. the market seems rather resilient given the negativity out there, but how long can it tread water? we shall soon see i guess, sink or swim week coming up i think.

burros-ark signal: buy. el vira is at 17% and exposure is 56%, basically the same as last week with a little risk decay and bit heavier allocation so stay in. buy. if you are ok with the global risk and want to pick up some quick coin, this could be a good time for it, almost everybody has at least some skin in the game. on the other hand, you might loose your shorts, but isn't that what shorts are for, ya gotta take them of once in a while anyways. let it all hang out. buy.

whack! ouch, the only thing worse than getting kicked in the nuts is getting kicked in the nuts two days in a row. i hate it when that happens.

Hope it's not a pattern a la 3 Stooges - day 1, kick in the nuts, day 2 uppercut to the face, day 3 kick in the nuts, rinse, repeat...

Had two opportunities to get out with a 1%+ gain, and I didn't take it. Coulda, shoulda. Such is life.
