burrocrat's Account Talk

My surprise was when they showed up on my cell phone...and I'm talking full frontal...My wife thinks it's my doing...All I wanted to do was access the forum. She now thinks I hang out with degenerates...Hmmmmmmmmm...:D

burros-ark update: hmmm, a slow and steady week of 1/2% to 1% creeping gains depending on exposure to the i fund. arkers aren't moving much, 1 in, 1 out, and 1 reduced exposure a little, booorring. reasonable and positive ytd yields are looking pretty dang good for a bunch of amatuers. all's quiet on the western front, perhaps too quiet. i was looking for an opportunity to get my burrocrat personal account out of the market on a strong upday last week, but the opportunity did not present itself. i find myself nervously in the market hoping for just another percent... which sets my greed and complacency indicators blaring, but i want just a little more. i rarely like to hold a position longer than a few days and i think i am bailing early this week no matter what, this nickel here and dime there incremental accrual is just not my style. let's see what the ark says.

signal: hold. the system went to a buy three weeks ago and reinforces the position this week again. el vira is at 3% and net long exposure is at 66%. despite my personal fears about greece, the fed, and seasonal sell in may concerns, arkers as a whole remain calmly but conservatively in the market so hold. that's what systems are for i guess, to take emotion out of the decision process, although i'm not sure how well that applies to a system based largely on social momentum and emotion. we shall see.

tHANKS FOR THE UPDATE AND ANALYSIS bURRO. mUCH APPRECIATED

Thanks for the update Burro. Much appreciated.

FS.

let me guess, you're an english teacher? many have tried, but none have succeded, you can't repair something that never worked. my wordhole is permanently stuck in conversational vernacular, i think it was designed that way. i'm ok with that. wheeee!

i have been considering getting one of those invisible pet fences that shock the crap out of your dog if he crosses the line. i don't have a dog, but do you think the neighbors could still see me walking around naked in the back yard if i had an invisible fence? i would have to be careful to stay aware of where the boundary is of course, but i'm a quick learner.

The real problem is if they can't tell if you're naked, fence or no fence.

Walking naked near an invisible electric fence is right up there with grilling naked and feeding your pet alligator while naked.

Voluntarily renouncing straying is one thing, impulse control is another. :1244: the dog I used to have long long ago, would hit the end of the chain on his choke collar-hard, every single time a truck went by on the gravel road out front of my trailer park. Didn't phase him, he still kept trying.:drillsergeant:

Don't get the dog electric collar fence crap, I did for $150 and it didn't work for my mixed lab. Could climb over a 6 foot privacy fence while the collar was shocking the crap out of him, no problem!

but could the neighbors see him? that is the part i don't understand.

Electric fence didn't work for my lab either. They are very tough about pain. I also know a few who bought them and the dorg would run through it and then not want to get back inside because they were aware of the shock after the threat had passed.

PO

 That would explain why the repeat experiences hitting the end of the chain hard with choke collar constantly, never phased mine either. He was a lab mix too. Related behaviors were why I finally gave him away to a group house for troubled boys. the house parents wanted a big friendly dog with high energy to play with the boys when they got home from school. I'm sure it worked out well for both parties. The house parents were warned ahead of time. They were still willing to take him on.

Oh. I still have the Shock Collar and fence wire unit in the garage if someone wants a good deal!:D

How much? My wife's been misbehaving lately:nuts:
$15 plus shipping and a signed statement of irresponsibility on my part! DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, NEVER!

Dirty fingernails! EEEUUUUU!

This is one of my favorite examples of human stupidity!

i gotta hand it to the guy, that's exactly what i needed to know, he saved me lots of trouble. i will not be getting an invisible fence because the guy never disappeared after he put the collar on, i could still see him the whole time so that is not going to work for my backyard plans.

Sounds like you might be one of those guys who needs a 10' fence! Not so you have privacy, but so your neighbors do!
