Budnipper1's Account Talk

Please ignore my last post - I responded without really thinking about how I might sound and without considering long term interactions. Anyway I think there is plenty of gold we can still gleam from one another and that all of us want the best out of this site and from one another.

Steadygain and Skypilot, Thank you for your responses. You both just put a big stamp on my point!!!

Have a great day!!

No problem crhuss, glad I helped.

I've had everything in the I Fund this week and was actually thrilled to see it go so nicely in the RED. From my perspective the Risk Funds were like a bunch of loose dirt that needed to be compacted down. Since November and December are typically the huge gainers - and the overall climate has proven the BUYERS ARE READY TO TAKE THE MARKETS TO RECORD LEVELS - the harder the dirt was stamped down - THE BETTER THE PLATFORM TO TAKE OFF. To prove this point watch the Markets today - and where they end at the beginning of 08. Interestingly - the master geru suggested every penny should go to G - to gain a penny. That is ridiculous - and fortunately I can think for myself (however I will undoubtedly see what he suggests).

Since this is a TSP Site - I would say most of us (if not all of us) are hoping we can learn from each other - so all of us can benefit in our ultimate retirement account. I've shared with you what I've done with my TSP and how I expect things to go over the next few months. I'd be interested in your views of how the Markets presently are - (what has happended this week) and what we can expect for the rest of the year.

We were wined, dined and encouraged to help support TSPTalk by subscribing to the paid services. By subscribing, we should have gained valuable knowledge and improved success in building our retirement nesteggs. What we were not told in advance, is that if we do choose to subscribe, we would lose most of the privileges that our non-paying members still enjoy. In the real world, this is called "bait-and-switch". I am totally disappointed with the outcome of these recent changes. I'm still currently considering my limited options. This is my personal opinion and is posted in Budnipper1's account talk thread.
I think you are blowing it way out of proportion making it sound like it was our intention to take something away from you.

We are not trying to take anything away. It was an effect caused by a new service. We are trying to do as much as we can to make the transition a smooth one including hiding allocations so subscribers can stay on the tracker, buying a second board license so the systems can be discussed discreetly with other subscribers.

Maybe I missed it, but does anyone have a solution they would like to propose that we have not already thought of? There is no hidden agenda. If an idea works - I'll use it.

Thanks for staying on top of this Tom,

There's always growing pains and your idea of a second board license sounds good to me.

This is a paradyne shift for this board, kind of like a government reorganization. (Been there too many times) Things will be up in the air for a while and then will settle down to the new paradyne. New EBBs will arise, new members will become leaders, life will go on, the next paradyne shift will occur and so forth and so on. The board will never be like the old board. It will be different, not necessarily better or worse. Change is inevitable. Work to improve what you like about the new board. Seek to change what you don't like. In the end if things change too much or too little or too fast or not fast enough members will leave and the board will change or cease. That is the job of the board owners and moderators to figure out. This is why they make the "BIG BUCKS" and change the board at will. m2cw.

  • (on a previous post I put my 2 cents worth in so I suppose it should now be my 4 cents worth. No wonder I can't make any money I am always giving it away)

Wow RunningFool - That should be the billboard that pops up when we enter this site. VERY WELL WORDED AND THE BOTTOMLINE TRUTH.

I chose Jimi Hendrix - because he represents someone who broke all boundries and played with a style that was miles (lightyears) beyond everyone else. No matter how the music changes or what groups are formed NEVER WILL THERE BE A REPEAT OF THE 60s - and WOODSTOCK CAN NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. But Hendrix did inspire me to play from the depths of my soul - to purely let it flow naturally and beautifully.

Anyway - I wholeheartedly agree with you. Things have changed and we can all flow with it - move on - and try to make it better.

paradyne = paradigm

:)

The only way I can reclaim losses is to jump in with both feet and hold on. No big deal. It's been a bad week, but I'm thinking, "how much worse can it get?" :D The law of averages will still prevail and the fund prices will soon recover. "Don't worry...Be HAPPY!" I've got 82 days and a wake-up before I say "KMA" to the USPS! Then I'll have plenty of time to keep my eye on the markets.

Since the TSP board is playing games with our money, I am forced to develop a "Plan B".
Today, I started using the L funds for the first time, with 70%-L2010, 20%-S and 10%-I fund.
My current plan is to let the money in the L-fund ride, and only move the other 30%.
L2010 is:
52% G
07% F
22% C
07% S
12% I
I hope this new "benign", but undesirable strategy will only be temporary. I'll spend my new found free-time from watching the market to raise hell to anybody I can contact about the shitty deal the TSP board is trying to shove down my throat. My first scream for justice will be to my favorite presidential candidate, Fred Thompson.:)
