bmneveu's Account Talk

Market closes at 1pm EST today. Anyone know if I IFT today, will I get today's closing prices?

Thank you for bringing the 1 PM close time to my knowledge...I was unaware of that. As with any IFT as long as you submit it by noon EST you should get that day's closing price

Bought TZA @ $16.87. Live Band/Carnival/Fireworks tonight! Enjoy the Holiday all :)

I also bought some shares in my Individual account in after hours. I was able to get mine at 16.81. I also went G fund today in my TSP...so hopefully both moves were spot on and I make some money Thurs/Fri... *crosses fingers*

Happy 4th. Take care!

The last half hour on the AGG (F fund) chart may hint to what direction we're heading tomorrow. Did insiders get the jobs report early and jump from equities to bonds? IIRC, this kind of action was seen prior to last month's report. Something to think about...

And the bond volume was heavy. F will climb on Friday as investors flee from equities.

Thanks for visiting bmneveu. You seem to have a keen insight into predicting where this market is heading.

Welcome Weather, and a good spot on prediction.

Today might not be a bad day to dip into equities a bit, but I'm gonna wait till Monday. I'm not really a fan of jumping in on Fridays, and there may be more downside to follow after the vacationers return. I'll likely exit my TZA position this afternoon just to be safe. You know what they say about pigs...

I'm looking for an exit on my TZA as well. Do you follow J Trader's system as well or do you follow your own system/methods?

JTrader definitely has a weight on my decisions, but I don't follow his moves all of the time (I also consider overbought/sold indicators and seasonality to name a few things). That being said, I just sold TZA @ $17.41 as his system is going long! I won't look to go long until Monday afternoon at the earliest though. Grabbed 3.35% today. Trading account is just over 31% YTD :). TSP sits about 7.6% YTD and I'm climbing up the AT @ 214!

Edit: Correction, JT is going to cash for the weekend

Nice job man! I sold my TZA at 17.50 before JT came out with his call. I had a feeling it would be getting sold and I saw that the market was rebounding slightly so I let it go. With OptionsHouse my account is a cash account and not a margin account so it takes about a day for the cash from a sale to go back into my account for stock buying power. I probably would of stayed in cash anyhow, but I should be ready to buy again on Monday depending on how things are looking.

I'm glad my TSP is out of the red finally and is sitting in G. Crazy how I was doing so well at the beginning of the year and even won a Monthly TSPTalk prize lol. Oh well being slightly positive is better than being negative I must say. :)

Actually his original system stayed short, as I did. His CCI went long, therefore his new composite went cash, to split the opposing signals.

So JTrader advised going long and going short depending on the system? Great advice. No wonder no one knows who to follow or if to even bother.

JTrader uses a mixture of two of his systems for an overall signal. I try to follow the composite signal (which is based off what both systems are doing) the best I can.

I've visited JTrader's site in the past, but was confused on how to apply his mix of signals to a TSP account. The Composite signal is new and might be useful.

He does say that, "The 'healthy' or 'unhealthy' signals are longer term indicators and could theoretically be used for TSP/401k accounts where transactions may be limited."

Thats' still unclear to me ... currently the J-Trader system is "Healthy" and "Short" ... while the CCI system is "Long-biased" and "Long" ... resulting in the Composite being in "Cash".

I don't use JTrader's blog to influence IFTs on a daily basis, because his signals are usually posted near COB. I do however use his signal to influence trades with TNA/TZA near COB, which is how he prefers his signal to be used, I believe.

Today could be a good entry point but I keep hearing that this earnings season could be rough and may keep the market down. Gonna hold off for today. Even though tomorrow may be higher, I don't think its worth getting into the market for. Being down the last 3 days though, tomorrow may be a good opportunity to make some gains with TNA. Will look into that later after work..

If you look at his stats, they are accurate. I've been following him all years and he's good. A few big losses, but huge gains. If you combine his system with one of TSPTALK's premium services, I think you could make some big money. Outside of TSP of course...we're talking TNA/TZA.

I considered an IFT this morning into S but decided at the last second to stay out for at least another day. Its hard to tell which way the next big move will be. I may look at buying TNA this afternoon if something between now and then.
