bmneveu's Account Talk

Thanks for the visits/comments all.

I said earlier this morning that I'm looking for two down days in a row, and that I may jump in if a pullback forms before noon. Looks like we are seeing just the action I called for. I'm going to wait until about 11:45 to make my move but it looks like I'll be buying this dip.

EDIT - looks like most of the IFTs this morning are to safety. Last time I played contrarian earlier this month I got left in the dust!

Not many folks want to run into a burning building, and I can't say I blame them. Had I already been invested I'd have been tempted to pull some back to the sidelines myself.

I'm thinking of jump back in even if it is a short time. I got out of S at 680.91 and it is at 675.23 now so it wouldn't be a bad choice if it stays around that number. Decision, decision.

UGH sitting on my hands again. I'm too young to be on the sidelines!! Even though I hate it, I am feeling lower prices are to come.

Don't forget that Operation Twist from the Fed is still active. The Fed is interested in forcing money managers toward risk assets - I'm not getting out when this train is rolling. The Fed will now float their balance sheet to try and maintain their goal of 2% inflation. Now we know their game plan and it means free money to boost the NYSE. The NYAD is saying money is flowing into the market.

Well if I had gotten in yesterday I probably would have just sniped today and got out to minimize risk. Hope this cliff comes soon -- I'm getting antsy!

Wondering if now is the time to sell my TZA. Could sell right now and break even or gamble on either selling later today or maybe even hold until after the bond sales.

I ended up holding TZA. Tomorrow and/or Friday could be a nice sized push down, which will make for a good swing point. Looking at jumping into S or C soon on the dip.

Just my opinion, but this bull market could make mincemeat out of your TZA. Be careful, and tighten up your stops. I'd hate to see you lose big.

This morning has put my TZA in black and I'm considering selling. Like you said MrJR, it's not very wise to short this bull. I, however, will have done it with profit. :)

Looking to sell TZA this morning for a nice profit. Also about 50/50 on jumping into the C fund on this dip.

Yesterday had the DWCPF (what i have on my ticker as the index closest to matching the S fund) at about +1% while the S fund lost a bit. I haven't seen that much of a difference in quite some time. Wonder if that has any significance...

It has happened before. The DWCPF chart was messed up and not tracking correctly. This error has been discussed in other threads. Try ^W4500 it is a little more acurate. It had me going yesterday also.

Ah thank you NASA.

Today looked like maybe a good entry point but I've been unable to be near a computer during trading hours all week. Gonna look at futures tmrw morning and maybe make a move if I like what I see.

Can anyone tell me what happened just after noon today that spooked traders into selling? Just curious

Most sources are saying the Greek bailout is on hold again. Same thing that always brings the market down. I am really getting sick of hearing about Greece.

This pullback is enticing but I'm gonna wait until tomorrow at the earliest to jump in, and even then it may be half a position. If positive results come out of the Greek meeting Monday things could go straight up at the open Tuesday and it would be nice to be in before it. Maybe I'll do half tomorrow and the other half before the end of jan...
