Bitcoin

Sold at $4000. I really like the GDAX site and trading was very easy. Looking for another buying opportunity. I didn't make much because of the small trade but at least it was a positive experience.

Good job selling at $4000. I was looking at a 15 minute chart and a cup and handle formation showed a possible $4100 target yesterday. It only got to about $4045 and I missed a chance to sell. Those 15 minute charts work OK, but not as reliable.

The daily chart still looks just OK, because I didn't like the lower low yesterday. Now if it gets above $4100 it would be a great sign, but that will be a tough area to crack today.

Looks like you'll get your chance today. Right at 4100 as I write.

Still holding. That $4100 was the 15 minute chart short-term target on Saturday. Now That's it's made a higher high on the daily chart, I'll hold. Looks like the $4240 area will be the next level of resistance to try to crack, but it's not very strong resistance at this point.

Thanks nnnut for the video and Tom for the chart. D-7's target was hit perfectly and I grabbed some GBTC this morning in both my IRA and trading account at ~$600.

Wow, so I probably should have held but I sold my GBTC in both accounts (20 shares each) at $738-$740 this morning and made over $2K in both accounts, in one day basically. Still holding my 10 ethereum with no plans to sell...I almost bought 10 more over the weekend but it hit my buy price of <$2500 including fees (Coinbase sets a maximum weekly bank transfer limit of $2500 unless you request a higher limit) overnight and I missed it. I need to do that transfer to GDAX....but I also saw over the weekend that Coinbase set up a U.S. dollar account for me that will now eliminate the 3-day hold on buying/selling, so maybe I'll skip the GDAX move.

looking at buying btc again if it gets down to the trend line from July low to the recent low. Have some ETH I've been holding for a few months. Been pretty quiet in the crypto world. Consolidating?

Not much movement the last two days. It is either forming a bull flag, or it just hit a lower high.

I have 2.XX btc coins right now and don't have a warm fuzzy feeling, but that could be a good sign. :)

I also have some litecoin that's been holding on.

btc is in a bear flag and pushing up against some key resistance this morning, and which way it breaks should determine the direction of the next 10% to 20% move.

No push back from the btc bears yet. I just bought some litecoin for $52.80.

Yeah, making progress with that descending resistance line taken out. Next goal is to get into that circle for a little cup and handle breakout.

Early bitcoin investor Palihapitiya declares 'nobody can stop it'

Social Capital's Chamath Palihapitiya was early in both Facebook and bitcoin and continues to back both.

"The idea that the government can put curbs on this is actually pretty specious," he said in response to JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon's criticism of bitcoin.

"Nobody can stop it because nobody can control it," Palihapitiya said in an exclusive CNBC PRO interview at the Delivering Alpha conference on Sept. 12. "

"As far as I'm concerned, the genie is out of the bottle," he said. "Now the real question is how can we productively use it to solve some of society's issues around the financial services infrastructure."

Bitcoin has been up for 5 straight days and climbed back over $4600. Too bad GBTC isn't joining the rally (mostly moving sideways during the btc rally). I think it's because Ethereum and litecoin are not rallying either and are instead falling for some reason.

I'm still holding only litecoin (and gbtc) right now. ;swear

As he is Dutch, some are concerned...because they recall reading about the Dutch tulip mania...and think this guy is signaling that the bubble is about to burst. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania
