Birchtree's Account Talk

"The bottom line is despite the US dollar having terribly-bearish fundamentals, it still experiences big and fast bear-market rallies from time to time. These are purely technical and sentimental events. After any price falls too far too fast, it simply gets too oversold and psychology gets too pessimistic. The quickest way to rebalance this sentiment away is through a temporary countertrend reversal, a sharp bear-market rally. We are at just such a juncture today."

At the beginning of the week my oceanic was only $24K away from hitting my #2M from the March '09 lows - now I'm $204K away from that goal. If the small cap slaughter is finished I'll make gains up ahead. Here is how the oceanic performed this past week - it's not pretty to look at: -$33K, -$67K, -$72K, $-31K, +$23K for a devaluation of -$180K. That wipes out the $171K I made over the previous two weeks - but the internals have now been cleansed for further bull rally. A pause that refreshes is all this week was - healthy.

Thats some serious money your talking about.

4.2% loss is a lot of cash. This is not play money. Yet:) If the fed keeps on their current path it might be monoply money. :D

That's true. If they do another QE3, the stocks will skyrocket! Bad for the country but good for our TSP. Is that selfish thinking?:(:D

Your posts remind me of an ancient proverb."a mere lover of gold will not be satisfied, and the lover of silver can not get his fill." You speak of getting "wealthy" but as others have pointed out, your already wealthy ....except in your own eyes. There will never be enough to satisfy you.

A weak dollar is only a problem if you want to be a tourist in Europe. It is helping our manufacturing base with cheaper exports. If you want to buy an Acura RL that is made in Japan it will cost you more because of the currency translation - but then again if you want an Acura TL - they are made in this country and my wife desires a new blackcherry one later this year.

Afishegg,

I will not be satisfied until they ring the bell at Dow 16,875. I was looking over my oceanic account earlier this evening and I have a stock with a $90,000 profit and I have no desire at this time to exercise that profit - the stock going forward will gain me $4000 a point. The income is not what it should be but they do increase their dividend yearly - the sacrifices we have to make. I'm in the sweet spot of this mega trend secular bull market and I am going to make more serious money because I'm deserving - it's my karma.

Somehow, I didn't see this come up on your thread!

Cozy Wall Street Bull sends warmest wishes.

It will be a great, prosperous year with many wonderful surprises!'

Birch, my friend....you have guts, I'll give you that. If your truly happy where you are in life then who am I to counsel you as to what you should be doing with your life and money, I guess I was mistakenly telling you that you should lay it all down and do the, things that your heart desires, #1,because you can afford it and #2,because there just ain't that much "time" left, but it didn't even occur to me in that moment I wrote that, you already ARE doing what you want in life.Well, anyhow, go back to your garden and smile you old whipersnapper you! Your a hoot!

Hope you goal of reaching Dow 20,000 happens by end of 2012. I want to be out of the market then and spend my days travelling Europe.

I did something right in the fall of 2008 against all sanity. It's always darkest before the dawn. It was dark out there - real dark. And yet, we should have all bought more. And now I will chase the bull until we reach Dow 16,875 or perhaps 20,000 - buying as many wall flowers as I can. The more you have in the more you can win.
