Birchtree's Account Talk

FEAR METER
I've been developing this meter for several years and finally have it working. By using this I'm able to accurately guage the level of anxiety, fear, or sense of doom others are feeling.

Each dot (.) represents a level of Fear

Everyone in C,S,I
...............................................................

Everyone in F
........

Everyone in G
..

Birchtree

I thought the Meter was malfunctioning -- but after running a series of tests -- it turns out it's accurate.

He has NO Fear !!

Be IN to WIN Folks. Now is not the time to be timid. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and these GAINS will not be offered again. You miss ~~~ You Lose !!!

I respectfully, and wholeheartedly, disagree. Sorry! When things like having a republican win in MA happen, it breaks our conceptual models. If the model you have been basing your actions on breaks, then at the very least you're going to reduce risk until you know what is going on. Take alook at a chart of Goldman Sachs since October. They account, on some days, for the majority of volume on the NYSE. Without their "market crons" running at full force, I suspect we could see some nifty downdrafts continue. Technicals be damned!

Speaking strickly on behalf of Birchtree -- and striving to convey only his sentiments ...

Corepuncher, we have been through this senario in the past and no doubt we will continue this pattern of me flying so far past you I can hardly see you -- while fear holds you back -- the Markets will push me ever forward.

I strongly encourage everyone to go to the Lillypad -- as that will simply guarantee my place in the TOP.

To those of you holding on --- get an extra pair of sticky pants cause this train is going to hit us hard -- but once that refreshing moment has passed -- we will soar to New Highs.

Today is merely a reflection of some other point in time ... where the BULL fooled many ... shook them off ... and then charged straight up to 27% without a pause.

Very good impersonation, Steady. Spot on! :D

Thanks Steady,

Nothing like a little light humor. It’s good for the soul. Plus I need to hear these things to keep my emotions out of it.

If the market was to crash and burn, I would hold my position and increase my contributions as much as I could.

Be in to win! Ha!

Birch,
I need to take a little break and you may get back before me.

Had you NOT put your daughter and everything else before this MB, the Markets would likely have soared and we would presently be in increasingly 'record breaking' HIGHS.

Your BULLISH enthusiasm and your 'corky ways' have been very missed and the Markets simply don't have the Strength without your support.

So next week ~~ when you're back ~~ I'll probably go back in :D:D

Later man, and WELCOME BACK !!

Dag! If you keep that up Steady we wont need Birchtree anymore.
:D 27% here we come!! or is that -27%

I'm back and life goes on - the wedding was beautiful and I only cried twice. Looked at some lots in Chinquapin that have now been reduced $200K and are now selling for only $495K. Looked at a nice lake house on Lake Glenville for a value price of $815K reduced from $995K - I think there may be more flexability if I get serious. Mindylou does not like to drive at 80 miles/hour - but she did enjoy walking in the snow.

I've been in a margin call for the last five days and the market cleared the calls yesterday without my having to do any selling. Today, I did back up some to the tune of $50K and sold some CNH, GCI, ASH, LBY. PXD. I'll calculate the profits later and all that will be eventually reinvested - the bull market is still intact and this Obama consolidation is more than likely healthy for all concerned - watch for the rebound.

I'm free, free at last. I must readily admit that I did feel a tinge of emotional panic this morning when the Dow was down 182 points - and I'll probably regret the small amount of selling I did do but I'm just hedging a wee bit. I'm using the cash to pay off another credit card and transfer the balance to my margin account at 5.25% which is deductable. I reminded myself that panic attacks like this are part of any recovery process. If we rally hard off this recent consolidation I'll be right back buying myself into happiness. The more I buy the quicker the next $1M will come and now I may have found a lake place to spend some money on. I'm now about $175K away from that first $1M when only two weeks ago all I had to do was make $42K - ah, the best laid plans take a detour. That's the market - but the money will return - a couple more weeks isn't that long to wait. Snort!

Congrats on the Wedding ..glad it was a success..I hope they dropped a few GOD bombs at the ceremony.. obviously HE is in your life, because you ARE blessed..like it or not..;)

Good luck..I hope you reach your 1M goal sooner rather than later..:)

Buster,

Thanks for that kind reminder. You're appreciated. The church did not crumble - there are however two Union cannon balls embedded in the wall and are part of the history. I did shed a tear but regained my composure when I walked her down the aisle to give her away. Before we went into the church she said she knew the sacrifices I had made and that I was a great dad - I said I hope to be a great grandfather too. She told me how fortunate she was because she could see the difference between her friends parents and how we were. She said her friends were never given any guidance with their life decisions and I told her not to worry because there would probably always be an opinion somewhere from me - not that she had to listen to them.

Birch,

I pulled my sticky pants all the way up on the 22nd.

Can't tell if they were a pair of sticky pants or stinky pants. How can you tell the difference:p

I love market timing:nuts:

Perhaps we'll get a last hour run to trap a few bears - nothing but negative vibes all day in the face of good economic news. Let'em trash the bull all they want - but I'm holding my positions - no selling on all those technical reasons being given.

Hey Birch, really missed your almost every present opinion and steadfast bullishness. Welcome back.

Went in 65/35 C and S today. A little bit worried, but getting in to try and hitch a ride up.

Birchtree, I see you have a heavliy weighted allocation towards the large/mid caps. Are you thinking they are going to outperform the small caps on the next bull-leg-up?
