I like coffee and I'm always looking for new ways to make the perfect cup. My wife uses a plastic dripper like the one you mention for her on-the-go one cup needs. I've tried a French press, drips, and recently I bought a couple of old 1950's stove top aluminum percolators that that not only makes pretty good coffee, but it's fun to use. I like to watch the water shoot through the tube up to the clear glass cap so you can see when it's done. Many of us here are old enough to remember them, but some of the younger folks may not have seen a percolator - unless you take one camping.
The one I use now looks a lot like this one.
I also collect old coffee grinders and they work well for the percolator since the grind needs to be pretty course.
