I do not recall receiving a letter from TSP, although I have been tdy in Washington for several months. My wife who is still in Atlanta is pretty good about saving the mail for when I get home.

Advice?

Call TSP, hang on til they answer, and say you didn't receive it, and request they send you a duplicate account number. While you are awaiting it, you might find it in the house.

I had the same problem as I was away from mid-August to mid-September and when I returned I had a large batch of mail waiting for me at the post office. I was shocked yesterday when I tried to go a IFT and didn't have a account number. I was sure I hadn't received it.

Last night I looked in my TSP file and saw that I did receive it afterall. I must of received it and since I couldn't use it for a time, I just filed it. It would of been awfully wonderful if they told us in the blue envelope what the effective date would be.

Japan up about half a percent,

CAC, DAX, FSTE= THREE SOLID GREENS.

Dollar softer too for the beneficial whiplash effect.

Solid day ahead for the "I".

But do we jump with a possible +FV today?

That's the $64 question (no fvc included) ... I think Mr. 12% is calling for a pop and drop... I'm going all "I" for today and tomorrow just because I believe the market is OK with flexing itself a little more. My greed may get the best of me, though. :D:D

FTSE around +1.16
I think the Nikkei 225 (I forget if we should be more closely watching the 300) finished around +1.64

Oh, the dollar remained pretty much unchanged vs. the yen and fell vs. the euro (love this edit feature).

IMO you will see a market sell-off this afternoon causing a -fv to take place. Shorts are entering. Market is going to run out of steam. Hope I am wrong for the longs in the I Fund.

We need for more shorts to enter to keep this market healthy though. Short interest has dwindled the past two months in the Nasdaq, time for them to pile back in.
