Last Sunday I saw a segment on TV (not sure if it was 60 Minutes) where a guy by the name of Negroponte was interviwed. His group has produced a basic, very inexpensive, waterproof p/c being distributed to children/schools in very poor areas of the world like Asia, Africa, and South America, This will allow kids in remote villages without much electricity or telephones to have wireless access to the internet. The program also showed Intel is in on the game. This will most likely result in an explosive, learning opportunity to raise levels of knowledge and participation worldwide. It is no doubt a great idea and most important development.
