12%ayear's Account Talk

The article states that the residual hormones in beef have been tested by Ohio State to promote the growth of cancer cells even at levels below what the FDA allows. Now that is scary.

This is the kind of sell-off that will pickup steam. Too postive for me this morning. Looking for a triple digit red day. IMO

IMO Dow will close red triple digit IMO

You may be right. I've been sitting here trying to decide what to do. Part of the problem is I'm trying to decide on whether to day trade next couple days vs. going for my longer term.

In short term, I agree with you, thinking maybe a close red today...rally is happening too early in the day...the bear is just sleeping..but his alarm clock is set for 2pm. Thus, I would be inclined to take my F fund profits, and buy back in COB today. Then, sell if it's up Friday.

HOWEVER...look at the last 3 Fridays...down 19, down 8, down 22. Not good. But again, big numbers coming out.

I've been saying all along, that last months jobs will be revised upward.

Since I sold at 1362 recently, if we do indeed close red today, that is a gain of shares. If we are up Friday, that will be a prime time to sell, IMHO...given more writedown/bond shoes to drop.

50C 25S, 25I COB today <wince>

Then again, if we have a total and utter reversal today, wouldn't that be bearish for Fri??

I smell a sell-off later. Going to the I FUND for Friday. I Fund is overdue for a monster day. Also, after-hours GOOG, IMO will lift the markets. Looking for some -FV this afternoon. I will take that plus GOOGLE += nice lift tomorrow.

I changed my mind. We are so high right now, if we do reverse and go red by COB today, that will be very bearish for Friday and we'll probably see our 4th down Friday in a row. If the rally does not reverse, well, good time to sell today before we <IMO> retest the lows at some point.

The FED rally sold for a reason. That is one high pin, poked right up to 1370-1380. There is NO WAY I'm buying IN at 1370 (where we are at this minute!).

Thus, going with my longer term trading strategy since we're gonna have to do that anyway. My longer term for now is bearish, thus, get out.

Remember, it was than darn employment report back in December that really kick started this whole thing!

100G !

Watch the pros step in and tank this rally. The market quick pop to green from those triple digit losses this quick is not good. It tells shorts covered, but the pros will step in and tank this rally. Watch!! IMO

12% - you're pretty cool. I often get a bit of a chuckle out of reading your posts.

This is one time, Wise Master, I would have to think a little different. The .50% is like a knee jerk reaction (just as the .75% did). I'd say today and probably tomorrow will give a glimmer of hope; make everyone feel maybe the worse is over - and the worst will likely come next week. But time will tell.

Man! Didn't all of those shorts get squeezed out yesterday? You can only get so much juice out of a lemon Ya know.:worried:

Ok it's 3pm...S&P up nearly 20.00 pts! My prediction is we bounce back down before 1380, like yesterday, and settle near 1370. Some old dude on CNBS said he thought there would be a short covering rally today.

Yesterday there was a guy on, saying if they cut 50, we'd have a 200 pt dow rally. He was actualy right...because he didn't say we would CLOSE up 200! LOL.

Glad I sold it all today. (at least for now I'm glad). I still do believe the worst is not over. I believe it's a bear market, and nothing goes straight down.

We are at historic short positions - it will take months to wipe them out. If they all decided to cover at once we could have a 600 point day - remember there are less shares now available for purchase to cover those shorts. Yes, this will take several months.

obviously there is more need than money to go around for helping animals and I do everything I can to avoid overhead/admin. cost. You know my father, wht00ss was a big giver and ran a qualified animal shelter. In the last year of his life he spent close to 1m dollars on land ,taxes, vets the donations everything which I am trying to emulate. If you find something that really reaches out to you directly email me privately and I will see what I can do.

Opening Hearts and Minds to Help Chained Dogs http://www.hsus.org/pets/pets_related_news_and_events/valentines_for_chained_dogs_011808.html These bastards chain the poor dogs all day. HSUS has a nice program trying to help them.

I will look into HSUS because we do have not only our own money but we have raised quite a bit in donations so I will look into this. :( I've talked to Beth Ostrosky - I don't know if you are familiar with her but she has put alot of money and time into the North Shore Animal League America and it is the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption center. Because of the money my family has spent we connected thru people who do this professionally all the time.

We have talked from time to time as to the most efficient way we can best utilize the resources we have so believe me this is not on the back burner for any of us.

My goal for 2008 was the aston martin dbs (I know a little selfish on my part but I'm addicted to cars and racing - my only vice )and to raise as much money as I can personally and thru donations for these poor animals and I don't mean just dogs but all abuse animals. Everytime I go by the animal channel and see the unlimited cruelty of people it just breaks my heart and brings tears to my eyes but makes me more detemined to make as much of an impression on this problem as I can.

Hey people - there are alot of folks here and even if this isn't your thing anything you can do will give you a gold star from the big man watching us all. :)
