I spoke to somepeople today who pretty much informed me that new rule is pretty much solid. I hope they are wrong, but they told me that TSP hates the movement of monies.

I would bet most people commenting have never moved their TSP money out of the G-fund ;)

True. All they read was how it was costing them money, and their vote was sealed in favor of the board. Bad, Bad, TSP Traders!

I fought this same fight 2 years ago with my wife's 401K plan. It's a loser....
I got the letter like many will get next month. They say 3000, but they could send out 100K letters if they want. How do we know for sure?

The fight should include moving the time back until 1:59ET. At least we could win something out of this. We should hit-em hard with that thought!!! I hate the deadline. If they want to make it like Vanguard then change deadline also.

it's a good idea to make sure you're not over invested in the G Fund

12% This may be a foolish question, but can you elaborate on your comment about not being 'over invested' in the 'G' fund? Diversify?

Geaux

What he means is what happens if Uncle borrows all the money in the G fund and takes yours too. That won't leave you much for anything else. A way to avoid this possible trap is to stay away from the G fund.

Geaux, that was not my comment, but a quote from that link. In other words, TSP is worried in tough times, the government will not have enough money to borrow from. So, if they tighten up the rules, it is more likely that some not all will tend to keep the money in the G Fund.

The US DOLLAR is in great shape this morning. It seems that more sub-prime news, what else is new. This is good because let them al say it and be done with it. I see sales are better than expected. 2008 will be the year for the US DOLLAR and the small-caps. I still see a megarun from here to the end of the year. Many are negative which is a great sign.

This is the turn I have been looking for. That durable goods number tells me people are not buying. Small-caps time. More interest rates cuts coming. One of days soon, could be today, you will see a 3% pop

Robo,

Can you elborate on what you mean by, "moving the time back until 1:59 ET"?

Are you talking about moving the IFT time limit from noon EST to 1:59 pm EST? Or do you mean something else?

I just want to understand so I don't mis-speak when I discuss a possible solution or an acceptable compromise.

12%, sorry about asking someone else questions in your Thread.

I hope this keeps up, i need to zero out for the end of the month. Got a long ways to go these next 3 days

Can you explain why? Are we supposed to get some FV in our favor?
Well, The I Fund is lagging today for 2 reasons....1. stronger US dOLLAR 2. nIKKEI was down. IMO..NIKKEI will explode tonight up 1.5%-3%. There is no fv today from yesterday. Just a one day move.
