wv-girl account talk

Have you seen tsptalks post in the thread "Bailout"? I'm sorry to say that if it is passed, this is a very sad day for Americans. Special interest have no business being in this bill period.

I'm still in G, but if it tanks tomorrow, I will strongly reconsider.

Serious pork. One of the guys I work with mentioned it is over 400 pages. The first 109 are the bailout. The rest is pork!!

House should then take the 1st 109 pages, toss the rest in the waste can, & sign it - all before 10:30 am.
Then the House signed 109 pages is back to the Senate by 1:00 same day! - Plenty of time for the Senate to figure out where their pork later - in next / later bills - but they should get on with signing the 109 pages, for the people to save their businesses and jobs (per original intent). It can still get done tomorrow! :worried:

I'm sorry to say that if it is passed, this is a very sad day for Americans.

Well let me start by saying that both of my parents (from WV) come from the most humble roots you could know; and it is largely because of that I am genetically wired in such a humble manner.

My own background was filled with huge bizarre misfortunes that were very difficult and made my life and interactions difficult and perhaps distorted. This is why I so desperately wanted to know the brain through and through; so I could understand how and why others believe and act as they do.

Sorry... will get back...as emergencies are unexpected.

OK...now back to my train of thought.

If the current Economic Conditions were due to an organized mob that infiltrated the Financial Sector and Housing Sector; or bank robbers taking good money for bad money (which is in reality largely what happened) THEN THEY WOULD BE ROUNDED UP AND LIKELY ALL WOULD BE EXECUTED.

So in my heart - and life - I know exactly what you mean when you say "to pass the bill would be a sad day for Americans".

In this situation we are dealing with Corporate Mentality and here there are no feelings, no bleeding hearts, emotions, and the aspects you would expect with the human condition. Here it is cold hard cash and nothing else.

The FINANCIAL SECTOR saw a real life 'GOLD RUSH' and BANKS and FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (AROUND THE WORLD) WENT AFTER IT. But it failed - because they took everything possible from a population that couldn't afford it and wound up with a System that was TOXIC instead of healthy.

So the REAL LIFE problem we face right now is roughly $500 Billion in toxic assets that have caused a credit disaster - which has essentially shut down cash flow. The ones at the top are least likely to suffer; it is the overwhelmingly population that will lose jobs, not be able to get any kind of loans, and have to do without.

So please know, my sweethearted friend, it will be a far sadder day for Americans if this Bill does not pass. Large numbers of jobs will evaporate along with many businesses; only the well off will be able to get cars, houses, or any kind of loans; the bulk with little will quickly lose whatever they have. Markets will crash...

Hi Steady,

In referring to the 'sad' day, I was referencing the 'pork' in the bill. Not that the whole thing was unneccessary. I understand why this bill must happen, I just do not agree with the additional bs that our 'leaders' are taking advantage of. This was too important of a bill to be adding such things as wooden arrows, rum, ect.

This mentality of 'scratch my back' and I'll scratch yours is the way Washington has worked for many years. It doesn't make it right.
Things need to change.

Thanks for your explanation and looking out for the small guy. :)

Sorry :o I should have known that's what you meant.

I'm so sickened by the manner in which Politicians and Corporate Execs live and behave; how they are able to do things that would immediately put anyone else behind bars, and call them into question. But they are on a plain none of us can touch and are therefore granted total immunity and are able to go through the years with no accountability. Bush's financial records are perhaps the best example - an audit is essentially impossible (according to anyone that made an attempt).

Have a great weekend.

No need for an apology..you didn't do anything to apologize for.. :)...for newbies, members and guests that read our posts we should be as clear and conscise(sp) as possible and I realized that I was not as detailed as I should have been in expressing myself.

Thanks again, Steady, for being you. And you have a great weekend also.

Hey WV-girl, you said you like the more exotic gemstones. jtv.com is celebrating their 15 year anniversary. Some good buys on standard and the more exotic stones. I bought 2 lemon ambers with small insects in them to go with my collection. Just like Jurassic Park. Check it out.

Thanks JB for the tip--will check them out.

What a ride today. If we hadn't been closed in the tsp today, I would have went 100 C instead of 12% and locked profits. But I didn't want to risk the whole bundle on a 2 day ride. I'm not so sure we won't give some back tomorrow. If we do I will add more to my position. If not, I will continue to DCA from my contributions.

Either way, my desire to retire relatively young is fading. I just don't want to work until I get too old to enjoy myself.:)

Hi wv-girl,

Happy Birthday and Congradulations on a nice return for 2008 ! :)

WV-girl, many happy returns of the day! And thanks again for your assistance (those PMs ;)) last fall!

Lady

Thanks to all of you. Couldn't have done it (returns for 2008) without the msg board support and for helping me learn and making me feel comfortable (as much as possible when risking $) enuff to trade.
I still subscribe to Jack Benny who has an anniversay for his bd. i.e "This is the 35th anniversay of my 21st birthday." Or something like that! Mirrors do lie.

Happy Birthday WV-girl! But you're so young you've gotta be happy!!
