wv-girl account talk

Debbie,
Happy Birthday - and thank you so much for all you have done for this MB (and especially for me). I'll be 56 in 8/09 and feel better than ever.

I trust your health is good and life is going well - so let's hope the next 20 years are among our very best.

You've seen my picture of the Farm (the 400 beautiful acres in WV that is a gorgeous valley with surrounding mountains). Someday in the future I see us meeting there along with other MB members. It will always remain untouched by the Mountain Removal mining and be like the place Birch is going to in NC. So you can be sure that WV will always be sacred to me and my family.

Congratulations on 2008 as well. I have to admit that throughout a lot of the year I thought I would cream you by year's end because of your ultra safe investments (at least that's how they appeared to me). Oh well - pride before the fall. :o

Again Happy Birthday !!!

Happy Birthday WV-girl! But you're so young you've gotta be happy!!
Well, my drivers license says I added another year, but physically and mentally I don't see or feel it. I do feel great. I will continue to fight the number as long as I can. This msg board is full of smooth talkers so be careful, I might have to buy you a drink in the lounge.:)

I did get asked out by a very nice 38 yr old last month--but turned him down--felt like cradle robbing.;)

Thanks for your well wishes. Now let make some money in TSP.

Thanks Steady,
Glad I could help.
Remember the tsp is a marathon not a sprint, so I am glad you have slowed down a bit. Last year was full of challenges and at times was stomach churning, add on some luck and there you are.

I have no where near the acreage you do, but do have about five and a half acres. Will try to find pictures to post.

Thanks again for being you.:)

If you don't mind my asking, what does WV stand for?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I assumed it was West Virginia, but you know what the say about the word assume.

Ding, ding, ding, ding! And the prize goes to.......JB! Just posted some pics in my stats. Have a look see.

Assume......its ok on this MB..if you are wrong --- someone, somewhere here will gently get you back on track.(and if not gently, someone, somewhere will tell you about it)

That is nice. Are all 3 (or 4) floors yours?
Thanks.
Originally, yes. I have since converted the house into 4 separate apartments,(3 are currently rented) with me on the 2nd and 3rd floor of half the house. Thinking about renting the top floor out furnished. Since there is no actual kitchen on the top floor, am planning on putting a refridgerator and microwave as a substitute. Would make a great bachelor/bachelorette place. :)

Wow what a beautiful place you have, it reminds me of my time spent in Alaska. I can see why you rent part of it out, I could hardly imagine paying your heating bill!

Thanks.

You have done very well. It's beautiful - and the porches are amazing. I think all of us are drawn to the outdoors - enjoying the fresh air and atmosphere that only nature can provide. I immediately transformed the pictures to Spring/Fall - when the leaves are out and the air is just brisk enough to be wonderfully inspired (and then bask in the warmth of your home) after you've soaked up some quality time on the porch. I can't imagine a better place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee (or maybe hot tea) while listening to the birds and stuff.

Steady source of income - very desirable location. I'm happy for ya Debbie - it looks wonderful and undoubtedly feels better than it looks.

Thanks guys.

Jht--I don't want my heating bills either..even if the tenants pay their own(which they do).

Steady -- Yes, this is my santuary. Almost heaven... Complete opposite of what I deal with everyday at work near DC. It kind of keeps my balance on what is really important in life, and when I go home, I leave the rat race of DC and surrounding areas far behind.

no kiddin. Are you out in Elkins, WV-G? Looks like your place might be slope-slide, ski-in ski-out:)
70 miles one way -- depending on traffic 1 1/2 to 2 hrs each way. Good thing I don't mind driving. I'm no where near Elkins. My place is below Hagerstown, MD and above Martinsburg, WV.
