WorkFE's Account Talk

I'm already up to 2 hours office time and 6 hours on the street with 775 deliveries...all mounted. Mounted means I get to sit in the mail truck all day with curb line deliveries to mail boxes on posts. No park and loop (walking) or cluster boxes (apartments).

We already have most of our letter mail automated. The next big think is going to be flat automation. Flats are big envelopes and magazines. When those are automated into delivery sequence we're looking at 7.5 hours on the street and 30 minutes office time. I'll probably have over 1000 deliveries by then.

I hope they can't figure a way to automate delivery...

Bah, automated delivery to houses, offices, and up rural routes? Some things just aren't going to work - just like automated 18 wheelers on the freeway, automated mail delivery is going to be too darn dangerous.

The computer does what the commands tell it to do. Crazy drivers, snowpacks, black ice, broken mailboxes, etc. are beyond its ability. Delivery to upper floor offices in buildings can't be done by computer operated skateboard either, those also take a driver and can't push elevator buttons - and someone might just kick it.

Looks like we could be headed for a repeat of yesterday. Don't want to get to high just in case friday dissapoints.
Where the rubber meets the road. My nephew, after moving to PA a month ago, just got a job working for Honeywell. His girlfriend, who moved there with him, interviewed at JC Penny (fraud Dept., job she had in AZ) and Hershey Medical Center. Not sure of the job title for that one but probably clerical. Things seem to be defrosting but we have a long way to go.
Today may have been a good day to back out (quick out and back in) as the VIX is getting into pullback territory but she may still run up awhile longer. Tough choices.

GL the rest of the day

So far surviving today. Tomorrow may be a different story.

At noon I ceased playing in the market for today because there is nothing I can do at this point. Already looking at tomorrow.

Hey joylynn,

You're right and I didn't say anything about losing or doing away with our mail service, that's the last thing I want. I believe I actually said, I much prefer them over the Big Brown Truck types. I meant with the country hemorrhaging money, we have to do something to slow the bleeding or folks won't be able to purchase postage stamps. I've been saying for over a year now, that before we get this under control, I believe we will see a reduciton in our salaries. Will I like it.. heck no. But if that's what it takes, I'm willing to take it for our future generation. But any cut's had better go directly to reducing the deficit and not to any additional gov't spending. Now that's a pie in the sky belief.

It just seems when anything is mentioned to reduce spending, whether it's food stamps, unemployment bennies, Defense cuts, etc, folks say, oh we can't do that, people will get hurt. Well, unfortunately people are hurting now and I think, if Congress doesn't get on the stick and start reducing spending, even more people will be hurting, as time goes on. The old saying ya can't get blood from a turnip, comes to mind. :worried:

Hey Country Boy...looks like we are on the same farm! ;)

Last four days are behind us. Nice and quiet but it was all positioning for tomorrows payroll numbers.
Put on your seat belt and get out your 3dee glasses. Somebodies going to have the best seat in the house and someone is lashed to the tracks.

Thanks FE a great quote. I just hope I am strapped in the car and not lashed to the tracks. All though I feel like that sometimes. Lashed to the tracks that is. :toung:

Moved into positive territory friday with only 30% in risk. Although I would have done that weeks ago if I was in deeper I am satisfied with the progression. If this monday can do its normal monday morning trend it might signal a good point to back out with the VIX signaling "caution, beware of the profit takers"

Another week starts today and as far as scheduled news there does not seem to be any that should block us from achieving another green week. Beware of unexpected overseas news, both bad and good.

GL everybody.

Nice slow day to start the week, don't see any reason why today won't be the same.

GL everybody.

Decided to wade alittle deeper into the water. It just feels right. Heres hoping we don't blast off until tomorrow.:D

Was not expecting a finish like that. Big day tomorrow. Could be down for the Monday set up or we could have a great finish for the week.

IMO: Flat to the green side.

You and me both, and it's too early for me to use my last IFT to step to the sidelines. A whole lot can still happen in 12 trading days
