WorkFE's Account Talk

A very simplistic answer, which may not be 100% accurate, is that the share price of the G-fund ticks up daily by the interest rate divided by 365. That's why the G-fund pays more on Mondays, because you get Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's interest.

Is that what you were asking? :scratchchin:

How and when does that interest pay out? I'm guessing it shows up in the TSP account somehow... :dunno:

I like that answer. Always wondered why Monday was different.

I met my Goal for the year. (6.5%)
At some point I will need to position myself for success in 2024. I will watch for a dip to move a portion into C/S/I, not sure when that will be.

Even though we seem to be clawing and scratching our way back up the ladder, I feel fairly good about the market. Honestly, I don't know why. While I'm not taking on risk like many of you are I feel confident in what I do have exposed.
Consumer confidence and inflation news this week.

I met my annual goal with a few months left in the year so I have been playing small ball for the last few months.
1 December is upon us.
If the G Fund stays at 5% for December that would be a good way to end the year, add another .40% down the stretch.
My current allocation is only 5% (C,S,I) with the remainder staying dry. IF there is any type of pullback that provides an opportunity to get a jump on 2024 for positioning, I will jump on it.
