WorkFE's Account Talk

Bad news, Inflation isn't going anywhere. Recession followed by rising unemployment.

Good news, lots of stocks in different sectors put in lows months ago and quite honestly have recovered quite nicely.

Unknown news, know idea how long before we fully recover our highs and see our next leg up. But I do see some silver lining.
My guess is 4th Quater 2023.

Futures on the green side, that's a start.
Can we follow through from yesterday?

Still sitting 75% G and 25% C, S, I with contributions going 15% G and 85% split between C/S/I since May. I fund getting close to a sell for me.

I needed follow through today to sell my I Fund shares.
Could still get a snap back this afternoon but I think I will hold for now and see if there is still some room to run in December.

As much as I would like to limit my TSP monopoly loss for the year…doubt very seriously we are setup for any year end rally. Expecting soon to see drop in the equities soon. Going into 2023…looks a bit treacherous
with early losses as earning pre-warnings occur. Nice run though off the lows. 15 percent gains will evaporate quickly catching Santa Rally wishers offguard. We shall soon see…easier to go up or down from this level.. 🧐

Concur. I see 2023 much like the last few months. Up and down and unpredictable.
If I would have moved my I Fund Shares to the G Fund yesterday at COB, I could have eaked out a small gain from purchase to sale. While I don't foresee December overall being a positive month, if we have a positive couple day next week, I will make that move.
If not, time is on my side.

Wife and I made a trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan this past weekend.
Did a bit of shopping at Bronner's, it's her annual thing.

Couple observations.
1. Shoppers in house was relatively light.
2. Prices have gone up considerably.
3. Product origination seems to be more diverse than years past but China still rules.

It is tough to find any positives out there, and 2023 isn't exactly inspiring confidence.
I suppose I could say my dividend reinvest are buying a bit more so if there is a rebound better profit will be realized.
