Wolverine Account Talk

I'm with you.....I always swallow missing an up better than I can swallow riding it down.....unfortunately I do both quite well and quite often.

As far as all the commotion at the ring-a ding-ding, I guess they have to make it look they are earning their commissions.

GA

Yes, If I can't live with the decisions I make doing this, then I might just as well not even do any IFT's.

If earning their commissions is what they are doing, then I guess that explains it. LOL

I'll go out on a limb for tomorrow and bet that because I am out that it will be a plus day anyhoo. LOL

Melany Griffiths could take lessons from Peaches. Reminds me of a line from "Bonfire of the Vanities".

I know who Melany Griffiths is and am aware of this movie but, ya lost me cause I can't remember if I seen the movie and sure don't recall the line in this movie if i did see it. LOL

As far as Peaches, nope, don't know her either. LOL

This is a first..........

Anybody Not get their e-mailed IFT they did yesterday?

I have not got it as of yet. First time with this happening.

Just wondering.

FWIW, that's happened to me from time to time. Check your account online to see if the IFT took place.

Well, it has been two days without getting this e-mail of my IFT that I did then.

I did call them today and everything was done normal and it showed it sent. They said they cannot send it again. They can send me a paper copy. Getting my normal e-mails is not the problem, I get all what is normal since then.

IFT went through properly and all that.

Would it be wise to get them to send me a paper copy?

Is it good/necessary to save these IFT's for a certain period of time?

Thanks

Once it shows up in your account, I feel safe. We do the e-mails to eliminate any postage cost to TSP. Wouldn't want some extra cost to trigger a concern on their part......;)

Yes, Spaf........I wouldn't want to create a disturbance in the force by having them mail me a paper copy. This could lead to me being tracked and hunted down by the guys in black suits and dark glasses. This would not be good. LOL

I'll will be taking note though of this situation if it happens 2-3 times in a row.

Thanks again.

Now if TSP could only add a feature where your email address is stored and you could select email notications.

Exactly my thoughts also recently. Like an archive of your IFT's that you could wonder around in. Would it be worth the effort to impliment this kind of thing and popular with those involved with the TSP?

Just one thing to remember... while all these options are likely possible, they all have a cost to implement.

What would they be worth, vs what they are likely to cost? Especially in this case where one could and should keep their own records.

It would have to save money from postage. Every business is going paperless. Give the Gov't 5 years. They're always slow!

They already have IFT's archived. They just show you the information in your account balance feature. Just look at any date and they will show your allocations, balance and share price. You just have to know the dates you moved. One caution, the account balance check will show the new allocations on the day you made the change. Sorta like they show your allocations at COB for a given date.

All your IFTs are recorded on the quarterly statements that they have available online. It just doesn't show you what percentages your IFTs were, but they show you how much you placed into which fund and when.

I'll do a 3 reply in one post here............

SkyPilot...........Yes, the cost factor would be there with all this.

I agree on your point also of keeping our own records.

ATCJeff...........Yes, I have played in the account balance section with that feature you mention. It is a nice feature with that and have used it at times.

fabijo..............Thanks for reminding me of the quaterly statements. I seen the current one was ready a bit back and I had not gotten back to it yet. I just did go look at it and printed it out for further evaluation.

I guess overall what we have on the TSP site already is quite plenty for us to track our records of everything. If we learn how to use all these properly it really does complete a good record of everything we do.

The IFT e-mail is nice to have though and a fairly quick and neat layout of what we just did for that day.

How many toys do we really need to play with on the TSP site is what I think it really comes down to. Keeping things simple and condensed for me is better overall and quicker to get through.

Anyhoo, Thanks again for your input with all this and Thanks To All.

So, is the DJIA going to break the record close today, tomorrow or Friday?

I'll take a wild guess. Friday would make the ring a ding ding crowd on CNBC all hyped and ready to party Friday night and all would be good.

Just a thought. LOL

Looking at the DJIA chart and the big spike down back in march during the correction, it reversed to where we are at today. Today though we have another fair spike upward and I wonder if this could indicate another reverse in the downward direction comparable with what happened in march. These big spikes I see on charts tend to go the other way after they have had their say.

Just a thought with things being at new highs and all.

Thanks To ALL.

Wolverine,
To share a bit. tsptalk and Rev. Shark discuss market movements and volume. Volume is a key indicator. Low volume advances are scary. High volume advances are something you can chew on. Sometimes you have to read between the lines.........:)

Howdy Spaf..........I was only getting at this Low Spike and High Spike comparison. Interesing how these indicators work at times in regards with quick Lower Lows and a quick Higher High's.

Both DJIA and 500 in march had this quick Lower Low but, they both had Higher Closes on that particular day.

At the opposite end for today now, we have quick Higher High's for both and both closed at the High end of it all.

The big thing now is the 500 hitting 1500 and with all this emotionalism it probably will.

Just want to see how this current Spike reacts compared with the last one.

Thanks again.
