Wiff007's Account Talk

Don't you have more options if you go to G at the end of the month leaving you two buying opportunities and a final flight to safety for the next month?

Just curious and still learning.

That is what I have always done, if I move next Monday my understanding is I am already out one IFT.

If you bail to G on Friday you still have 2 IFTs for August. If you bail on Monday you now only have 1.

The thing is though, if you are always moving between G and equities and back again it doesn't make much difference because you still only get 1 entry in the market per month. Where the 2nd IFT helps you is in changing equity allocations, bailing to F, or staying in the 1st part of the month then getting out and back in before the end of the month.

You can always move to G, no matter what. If you are invested at the beginning of the month (already in), you can get out and back in again and still move to G, effectively 3 moves.

Got it thanks for the advice. Hoping we have a good day today. Gonna dip in some more today hopefully to end July on a good note.

I think generally, it all depends upon how frequently/accurately you time, or intend to time the market that month. For a precise trade each month, you need a controlled entry and exit--2 IFT's; and not an enter simply because it is a new month that "gives" you an "extra" IFT.

Also, what does your system say? Does it say be "in" at the start of every month (or end of every month, actually)?

The idea when exiting before the start of a new month is that I'm trying to exit with the greatest profit possible; same with the entry. It is of no consequence to me to be in G at the start of the month if I made what I believe to be the most profitable exit. And, as stated, it allows me a precise entry and exit each month.

Even so, if my system says do it...done.

Well got I my 2nd IFT at 11:59 lol

Trying 30-S, 30-C, 10-I and 30-G.

Will await to see how fed goes. Not to much of a change so will see what happen lol.

Was a good day, hope we continue it tomorrow and Friday. Be nice to end the week on a good note.
Hi Whiff!! Yes it would be good. Let's see what the GDP figures bring tomorrow. I had wanted to jump in today because the Slow Stochastics were very low and I thought we would get a good upside for a few days, but then read somewhere that GDP numbers might not be as good as the market expects... so I kinda chickened out of entering today but at the same time... I had a phone call and then someone unexpectedly arrived at my desk just as I was thinking to pick up the phone 10 minutes before the deadline...... ugghhh....

However, I must say no matter what it always feels like a crap shoot as of late!!!

Best wishes on your investments there.... hope it goes up for you!

Ouch rough start it seems for today, nope fully we rebound tomorrow to end July. Darn it was hoping for a three day streak :(

Worried about August hope it isn't to rough lol.

Good for you that you didn't get in today lol.

One hour left to decide if to pull completly out for 100-G or stay as is. Buy low right? Or to maybe just stay 10-I,10-C, and 10-S. Sigh decisions decisions lol

Markets trying to upright. End flat possibly to lower for sure. Without any additional negative news, you are where you are and I would stay the course and re-evalute again tonight. Could be a some positive returns on Friday. August looks rocky so I'm going to see what the leaders do...but for sure I want to see the first day of trading in August to get the tempo. My advice is not always right...I'm not a professional so use it for guidance or not. Good luck to you.

One more thing...I'm not a big gambler anymore...so I'm more careful these days as I approach retirement. My aims is to get a decent return of 7 percent or more a year.

Thanks for the advice Felix. I got in again at 11:59 am lol. Went 55-G, 20-C, 15-S, 10-I. Will evaluate tomorrow as the last day of July to see how I want to go into August. Next two months going to try to be safer unless we have a big drop then catch the rebound. I pretty much have conceded to going 100-G or 80-G once we hit September lol.

Gonna chill now and tomorrow see if I need to move more to G to start August next week or if I will leave my funds as is to start.

Everyone have a great afternoon.

Also I'd be happy with 5% a year lol. Making only 2/2.25% if I'm lucky lol. might try the following of the top 5/10 leaders on the standing page for August and see how that does for me. Seems a lot of people are doing that.

Happy Friday!

A new day lets get those greens today. Gonna see how the market does. Gotta decide 100-G or stay the course and start August with 20-C, 15-S, 10-I.

Well no changes today, staying the course at 20-C, 10-I and 15-S. Will see what Monday brigs and August, almost went all G fund but want to stay in the market at least a little to see how the month starts off.
