"Stopping just short of a take-it-or-leave-it stand, Obama has mocked the notion that a stimulus bill shouldn't include huge spending. He's also defended earmarks as inevitable in such a package. And he's pointedly reminded Republicans about who won the November election."

He sure can bully around Americans with all of his yelling and calls of instant failure if this huge bill isn't passed this weekend. Give me a break, since when has the Gov't done anything effeciently. But he's already let Putin back him down in Poland.

Well obviously he's a thuggish lying bully boy, since he is allowing earmarks now and when you don't agree with his opinion, well look out.

93% spending bill and 7% infrastructure, this is nothing but obscene and I guarantee you this will do nothing to get us out of this recession. Even Goebbels,...eerr I mean Rahm Emanuel said " You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before. This is an opportunity. What used to be long-term problems -- be they in the health care area, energy area, education area, fiscal area, tax area, regulatory reform area -- things that we had postponed for too long that were long-term are now immediate and must be dealt with. And this crisis provides the opportunity for us, as I would say, the opportunity to do things that you could not do before. "

Dang, to this old boy, but Goebbels/Emanuel has a social engineering plan ready to go and that sounds like a way to jam socialism or to crush the productive people in this country and give the money to the lazy a$$ unproductive down our throats.

It's a welfare spending bill, just look at it folks, it's got miniscule infrastruture spending. Those type of bills are suppose to be called appropriation bills. We're going to be very sorry about this and our children? Well I'm telling mine that you need to save all you can, because in less than 10 years, they'll be more people not paying income taxes than those paying. That's where we're headed. And guess who the lazy, non productive people will vote for? The Socialist candidate. Man the writing is on the wall and papers around the world are expressng concern about BHO and his tactics. They are starting to see him for what he is, he needs to have his lfe looked into, I know he couldn't be vetted, but the libs just gave him a free pass and he'll tear this country apart.

Enough of this rant for a Saturday.

Now BHO is going to oversee commerce's census taking processes and procedures. Is this commonm practice Silverbird? Heard on CNN this morning and they even voiced how unusal this is and could lead to shenaigans.

I stopped reading after bringing up Goebbels. (Look him up if you don't recall the name.)

That's fine ChemEng, it's still a free country and you're free to be a smart.... Sure I know who he is. Lets see...hmmmm oh yeah, He was the propaganda minister for Hitler is that right? Yeah we're not all dummies, and if you don't think class envy and all those comments that BHO is hinting at that those people that are productive are cheating you unproductive people out of what you deserve is not a form of propaganda and then ignore those similiarities and bury your head in the sand. No problem here, but as for me I worry about the future of my off spring and some don't. :(

BHO's not blaming the Jews, except for the ME problems ..yet, but he sure is saying that those of use that are productive don't deserve what we have and are the cause of the subprime mess and economy.

GOOD POST CB!!

Thanks nnuut,

I kinda went on a little tear there, ooops, but to paraphrase an old saying " If the good man doesn't speak up against evil then evil will triumph" Not saying I'm the good man, but I will continue to voice my opinion as long as I can or until BHO's thugs go after me like they did Joe the plumber for even questioning the thoughts of their Golden Boy.

It's in the 50's today and I'm replenishing the old woodpile and cleaning up some of the winter mess around the farm. Mucky, but nothing like working up a good sweat. :D Hey I could create a job or 2, I wonder if those Wall street boys know which end of the shovel goes into the ground?

Have a good one,

You know, we've had a new president all of two weeks, and it is clear the honeymoon is over, eh?

Time to break out a cold one, relax, take a deep breath CB- you work too hard.

I'm not really interested in debating history. But if all you know about Goebbels is his role as Propaganda Minister, you may want to look into this little event called Kristallnacht that is attributed to him. Wiki says that night killed 91 jews and sent another 25,000-30,000 to concentration camps. Is that really the comparison you are trying to make?

That aside, I was referring to Godwin's Law. One of the corollaries of Godwin's Law is that an internet discussion is over as soon as someone brings up the Nazi's.

BHO's not blaming the Jews, except for the ME problems ..yet
Wow.

CB my friend, just be mindful of that blood pressure, you GOF. ;)

Lady

Thank ya Lady,

I was thinking of your words and thoughts as I typed my rant. I'm the type of person who has the initially blowup and then after that I just post documnted facts, thought provoking analogies and being the occasion smart a$$.

Your concern a couple of weeks ago was my blowing off steam. After the I accept the facts, but won't rollover to what I perceive is wrong and the analogies of what this country is going thru is blame as the nose on our face.

Another hypocritical action the libs are perpetrating now is the rush to get this social package passed. They raked Paulson over the coals for rushing thru the first TARP, which I didn't want nor am I a defender of Paulson, who by the way was side by side with gaether on the first TARP, but I digress.

The latest Rasmassun sp? poll late last week showed 60% of the public don't think this will work, that's why BHO is trying to rush this thru and bullying anyone who dares question any part of it. There is something wrong with that.

We have to get this right, because we don't have the funds for another try and I just feel that the is not a stimulus package but a big welfare giveaway. And when this fails, look out below, 93% of this package is approriated to the non job productive part of society and 7% is job stimulus.

We lost our way and got way off point with this jobs stimulus package, because as I mentioned earlier, Rahim (gotta watch some sensitivites with him ;) ) has told BHO that this is the golden opportunity to turn this country into a grand socialist/welfare experiment. Those words are public record and I have yet seen any country that has been successful with socialism/communism/marxism, heck even Karl himself renounced Marxism before he died, becase they had bastardized it.

Thanks for the reminder though, I appreciate it, but I have always enjoyed a good debate.

I sure miss a few of folks, hopefully they are lurking.

Take Care,
CB

Wow.

Good then we won,t debate history and yeah I know more about Goebbels than Kristallnacht, but thanks for running thru it for those who give that aren't.

So I take it from your failure to reposne to the gist of the post, that you are comfortable with a Infrastucture stimulus package evolving into a welfare wish list. If so, then game, point and match to you since as BHO is constantly reminding us that you all won and we lost. I can except that, but I still retain the right to call BS whenever feds do I disagree with or will hurt the future of this country, at least until the Supremes get packed. I know that galls you winners, but that's life in a democracy.;)

You must try to understand the term analogy or parallel or correlation, I know it's one of those terms, that can be used to expalin what we are going thru or can be related to. But I'm sure you'll correct me on my incorrect use of words. Oh BTW, I knew you have some attorney gentics in you when you fell back to Godwins Law.

Our discussion is over, when you fail to even recognize the possibility of this being the beginning of one the of the most horrible times in human history or the mere mention causes you to tune out.

And using Wiki as a source is questionable at best, since the last I checked data can be amended at will and I only really use it as more of a Readers Digest or Cliff Notes version of anything, especially history. But each to his own level of comfort.

Have a good one and enjoy the next 4 years since you won,

What is the correlation you are making exactly?

Right now could always be the beginning the most horrible times in human history. Chicken Little could have also been right. The sky could have been falling. Except that it wasn't, and in that story they all got eaten.

Umm, that is exactly how I used it? I'm not using it as a primary source for anything. But seems we agree that it serves as an awful good reference for those looking for a starting point.

CB, don't let CE rain on your parade. It's obvious that he loves and defends Obama and all that spews from the pie-holes of most other left-wingers who want to "change" our country to fit their socialistic ideas. (notice he began his protest by posting "Rule #1").

Does that sound harsh? Let me answer that. Yes!

I think it's ironic and disgusting for someone having "moderator" credentials to turn so many forum discussions into pissing contests with arrogant and flaming comments. I hear enough of that kind of childish crap on C-span. Maybe he should go back to the college that he proudly professes to have graduated and take a couple of refresher courses in intelligent debating techniques.

As for my involvement in further debate about my comments on this matter, there will be none from me. I said it and I meant it. Opinions are like a$$holes. Everybody has one.

What kind of spending do you think would stimulate the economy? The trickle down theory with tax cuts has been tried and it doesn't work.
Do you think there shouldn't be a stimulus package at all?
I agree that there was alot of crap in the Democratic house's stimulus bill. But there was some good things in there also. I hope they are fine tuning it in the Senate.
I thought the extension of unemployment benefits was good (the states need help paying for this, so giving the states some of the money is necessary) this isn't going to create any jobs, but it is necessary with the millions of people who are out of work.
Tax credits for businesses buying equipment or hiring new workers, this would bring some jobs.
Roads and bridges definately need some work
Weatherizing government buildings, this would create jobs and will help save energy.
I don't know what all else is in the package, I wonder if they have it online somewhere.

Yep budnipper,

Everyone has one and thankfuly we still have the freedom to express it. Nah CE rain on my parade, I actually have a couple of card carrying socialist and actually only vote that way, now they can debate, CE is like dealing with a lawyer.

He is the first Mod I've ever met who likes to flame and doesn't really discuss the linked article, but he'll sure rise to the bait quick enough on others POV on the article, but not the facts in the article. He's kinda circular in his thinking, rarely does he express what he stays for or about.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

I wasn't for the bailout from TARP 1, but sense BHO touted this as a Ifras. Stim. Pack, that's what I expect, not a single percentage to actual infras and yeah there were some good stuff in the bill hopefully they'll add more. The extension of unemployment bennies, though should have been in an
appropriation bill,I can live with it in this bill.

I don't know what all else is in the package, I wonder if they have it online somewhere. I agree with ya on these, but weatherizing some government buildings, based on age, structure type etc, it may be less expensive to just totally rebuild.

Trickle down or trickle up the job creators need to get money in their pockets or nothing will get done.

I'll sign off now cause I can feel Lady give me the evil eye for not listening to her. Sorry Lady. :o

There are a couple of sites out there that have the package listed, but I've gottem linked at the office, but I've posted 2 or lists on here somewhere. Google will probably lead to some lists. This was my edit.

As a moderator, ChemEng's job is to enforce the rules and watch out for spammers, and he does a fine job. It's a volunteer position and he's still allowed to voice his opinions. I don't necessarily agree with his opinions, but he's allowed to express them, and I did not see any flaming. Politics are always tough to discuss.

All opinions expressed by our moderators on this website are solely the moderator's opinions and do not reflect the opinions of TSP Talk or their parent company. :)

You can bet that ChemEng will change his tune when his kids start public schools. That will be awhile yet but it's coming. He and I have already had our discussion on this topic. Public schools are preparing to start serving dinner after school along with the reduced lunch for the at risk bunch - it's one way to save money and separate that single parent from total responsibility. Yes, social engineering is wonderful and so is the prison system as one reaches into adulthood. And again "Atlas Shrugged".
