What Do You Think?

Last November 19th I posted a blog that introduced this board to the Seven Sentinels. It's been almost 6 months since that time and we've had very few signals during that time. However, those signals, had we strictly following them, would have paid handsomely.

So what do you think of the Seven Sentinels?

It's interesting that about a week ago they came very close to giving a sell signal. Very close. And yet since that time the market has continued higher and the SS have drifted further from that sell.

Have you made your trades based on the SS?

If so, how have you done?

As for myself, I plan to trade those signals much more closely moving forward. I thought I was smarter than the signals over a month ago and tried to make a short term move in and out of the market. But weakness was fleeting, and I've been stuck looking for a pullback (not those one-day wonders) ever since.

I have found the SS a very good intermediate term signal and I doubt you will see me try to second guess them again.

Cool,

I like them and plan to use them more in the future, though due to my own being frozen in the headlights, I haven't been courageous enough to pull the trigger, so I'm always looking at your posts for any info on them and plan on incorporating them in my future moves, since obviously my 2 blunders into the market left a couple of marks.

No doubt the SS have given some good signals in beating many a top timers- and best of all they are free. I really should put some weight into them but last year I also said I was going to follow the Season Timing Strategy's buy and sell signals and that hasn't panned out for me.

I'm hopefully going to take notice of a sell signal from the Seven Sentinels, whenever it may be.

With our limited IFTs it seems to make a lot of sense to stick with a longer term trading signal and not let the day to day noise shake us loose.

I've been waiting for the first week of May for a while now, as I've had a hunch the rally would last until then. Futures are up right now, which is the way I'd expect the week to to start...with a head fake.

Of course, that's wishful thinking at the moment, as the market may have other plans.

I like the SS and I plan to use them to as part of my analysis to dictate my next moves. I keep an eye on your account thread and the traders talk board for insight in regards to where they are headed. Seems like a solid indicator. Thanks CH

I like the long term signal. Didn't know it was free, so now I will definitely make it part of my review...

Regardless, looking at my personal trading pattern has demonstrated a couple of things:
1. I help myself in the down markets.
2. I am not aggressive enough in the up markets.

Maybe SS can help with this...
