What are you paying for gas / fuel now?

Not enough to warrant paying attention. I fill up at the local station when the light goes on. Do I have a choice?

I drive about 20 miles/day (average) which is roughly 0.8 gallons/day. Lunch, even if I pack my own, costs more.

Thanks for the information but that's not the thread subject.

I feel your pain. I commute 60 miles rt x $4.90 a gallon. I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and am averaging 38 miles per gallon, which helps. I just might have to give up the cable and other small stuff because of the food prices. Living in paradise has some expensive drawbacks.

60 miles round trip is rough, but 1.5 gallons per day for your commute isn't too bad. Heard the new Elantras are pretty nice and almost 40 MPG on normally aspirated petrol engine is pretty impressive!

The Elantra looks interesting, will add it to the mix of possible solutions in my head, let it sit and brew with the rest. My round trip commute will be about 16 miles, no shoulders, 2lane. town is opposite direction, which means extra miles for mid-day doctor/dentist appts, plus extra miles for grocery and other shopping that I normally do on my way home from work. ugh. I feel your pain. we'll figure it out tho, one way or another.

My agency is getting ready to move in the not too distant future. Downtown to boot.
I am willing to bike about 10 miles one way, but trying to bike downtown in a major city?

UGH

Reason I'm whining about office move and thinking about lectric bike or some other partial solution to commuter cost increase: 3x commuter miles x 4.01 gallon gas=3x monthly gas budget-it hurts.

$4.97 off Base, Guam. I spent $100 today to fill my Toyota 4Runner. I believe on base is $3.97.

I have noticed that where the pop. is denser the fuel price is higher. The smaller towns are the best place
to purchase even if they are a little further drive. The difference between $ 3.66 and $ 4.00+ is significant.

Some relief in scottsburg, IN $ 3.66 -- meanwhile in nearby (20 mi.) Seymour its $ 4.14!!

3.91 outside Hill AFB Utah. I don't know about the island but on the main land 70% -80% of electricity is generated form coal. I'll be sticking with gas for awhile.

They keep saying that Hawaii has the highest prices in the Nation....regular for $4.55 at the typical station, and $4.28 at Costco/Sams. :( I have a Prius so with 50 mpg I really notice the price changes between fill-ups! Next step is to get an electric car and power it off my PV grid!! :D

Interesting about the 6 speed auto transmissions......Prius uses an 'automatic' continuous variable transmission.
