Sure...I'll try to do that. If you don't mind, what indicators do you use?

Kidding...but they are always must reads for me...they have stuck with it when others have drifted away over the years.

I usually follow the SnP and overlay Elliot wave patterns. This gives me a platform to work with and then I look at the FED, VIX, and a bunch of other factors. The LIBOR is an example of one other factor I am looking at now since I am watching the dollar and considering the I fund again.

welcome to the forum userque. Curious, what is your background? EE? CS? hobbyist?

Thanks. Started CS as a hobby (Timex Sinclair 1000 expanded w/16K memory module:)) in early teens...later received some formal CS education...many years later, still a hobby.

Cool cool. I graduated as an EE in 2010. I thought about trying to implement neural networks with the market but I only had 1 class that really went into details of NN. What are you using for software to perform the calculations? Matlab?

Started sharpening my teeth with a program called Justnn, the free portion of Easynn. It works for me so I still use it. WEKA is also free and seems to have more options. I've been playing around a bit with it.

If this NN dog can hunt, I'll probably see what Matlab and others have to offer for my particular needs after I play with WEKA.

While Justnn is not as robust as WEKA, Matlab, and others; it does what I need more quickly than others...for now.

But as you probably already know, its more about the data, the preprocessing of the data, and the structure of the NN, than which calculator you're using.:)

Let me know what you think about Justnn and WEKA if you check them out.

Anyway you can upload the program into my brain, there's plenty of room :D

F fund NN had an entry solution of this Tuesday with (currently) an exit at the end of the month (or beyond...TBD)

CSI NN had high probability exit solution today with less likely exit Thursday...going with Thursday:blink:.

100% F by COB 3-13-14

Haven't had much time to back-test (other than 'here and there' for my purposes) or chart about it. Been under the hood practicing excel jujitsu and tweeking / developing NN's.

tough crowd tonight...

...oops, should have posted it here too; but I think I posted elsewhere that I moved to F fund 100%, the day after I entered the I-fund:).

Previously used two IFT's this month already.

COB 4-24-14, Exiting F-Fund and moving to G-Fund 100%.

For my personal purposes, I expect to develop a artificial neural network (NN) to predict before noon (11:45am EST or so) whether the close will be "up" or "down."

All of my trading bots/NN's use data dating back to at least 2007, this "DEADLINE-NN" will only start out knowing the last 30 days of trading history. Each new trading day will add to this database.

It will use intraday data--hard to find for free on the internet. If I found it for free, I would feel better about taking the time to code a spreadsheet to extract the data from it that I need. I'm taking the lazy route as this NN is not critical for me and I don't want to pay for the data right now without conducting this proof of concept.

All that to say: If there is sufficient interest, I'll post the predictions here, if and once the NN starts hunting.
