Thanks FS,

It is interesting!

However, here's a different perspective I read several days ago:
Google degenerates into Ministry of Truth; all knowledge must now be pre-approved by search algorithm - NaturalNews.com

Hi Q. Found this very interesting video from Google regarding their AI search engine. Thought you would find it interesting.

Create a forecast in Excel 2016 for Windows

If you have historical time-based data, you can use it to create a forecast. When you create a forecast, Excel creates a new worksheet that contains both a table of the historical and predicted values and a chart that expresses this data. A forecast can help you predict things like future sales, inventory requirements, or consumer trends.

Google and YouTube now engaging in wholesale censorship of content they don't want the public to see - NaturalNews.com

Recent "changes" at YouTube now allow their technocratic management to remove monetization from videos they don't want people to hear or see. Independent media source, All News Pipeline, has had to appeal eight videos that were stripped of monetization for censorship reasons.

Very cool. So if I input the closing price of C fund with the date since they gave it the $10 price per share, then...:D

It might be fun to check out. I have this data going back a ways in a spread sheet.

No, I haven't gone nuts but think it would be interesting to plot and track. Who knows?

PO

Try it with all your data, then try it with a small amount of your most recent data, 20 days, 40 days, etc. Massage the data into percentages--then try that. Fuzzify the data--then try that too. I don't have 2016 yet, so I'm not sure if it'll give you a flat line (average) or something more interesting.

Somehow, I doubt wall street will be trading with it though :)

I will eventually test it out. Maybe it can take the output of an algorithm already living in an Excel spreadsheet and further refine it after the initial algorithm has done the heavy lifting...hopefully reducing the error rate of the original algorithm.

One small problem Q. As usual I was paying untention and do not have office 16. Not sure I want it yet or how much I am willing to pay. Plus MS is pushing the lease thing which just seems wrong to me right now.:notrust:

I am sure someday I will be renting apps and storing data in some cloud that I have no control over and that may evaporate suddenly. Today is not the day.

If you or any reader would find the data I have useful, let me know. It is C fund price from June 2002 to Oct 2015. 2002 is when they gave it a "share" price of $10 instead of saying "trust us, we're from the government".:notrust: The file is about 70k. Size, not price. This data is easily available at TSP.gov so my offer is just a minor time saver.

Thanks PO,

I use the actual etf/index prices. I'll post when I try 2016 out.

Lots of folks feel the same about M$ right now. It causes some folks to use pirated copies.

I think k0nkuzh0n and burro mentioned something about getting M$ stuff at close to nothing as a federal employee.?

Yes the federal home use program. It is a good deal. I haven't bothered to check to see if office 16 is available. Not sure office 16 runs in win 7.

If I do get office 16 and play with this I will post. I use the actual fund "share" price since it does not always track the index price. In C it mostly does.

Thanks for the reply and all the other stuff you post.

It does. But unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself with humans. We are terrible history students. We simply don't care about it.

We are a selfie-taking narcissistic people. Regardless of the high number of deadly auto accidents, for example, resulting from playing with the phone while driving; we believe we can manage it. It won't happen to me. It can't happen to us--not here in the US; not in this day and age.

We are ripe for the pickin'

Many folks relying solely on 911 for their safety--no guns.
Many folks don't believe in prepping for a doomsday scenario; relying solely on the availability of grocery stores, electricity, phone lines, cell towers, running water, [passable roads]--no butter.

EVERY major empire in history has fallen. Whose turn is it [to get tested?]

I remember Cramer from the CNBC segment, "Kudlow and Cramer;" many years ago. I would have never guessed that one day he'd elevate to where he is now; that folks would actually take him seriously. (Is Kudlow still around?)

He was the first I saw to use baffoonery while giving stock advise. Now others use bells and whistles as well. The fact that baffoonery and "loud" works is more a reflection of the retail investor than of the talking heads.

"Do your own DD [Due Diligence]"...as I remember we day-traders used to say to newbies way back in the day.

Only fools buy stocks recommended by financial talking heads like Jim Cramer - NaturalNews.com

"Despite a recent 1,000-point Dow Jones Industrial Average rally, Cramer's picks overall earned a failing grade. Although he promised those stocks would survive any market downturn, "these stocks didn't survive during the market's brutal third quarter," MarketWatch reported."

Migrant wave is an invading army of young men, ready to pick up arms, warns journalist - NaturalNews.com

"But that is not the bad part," Denninger wrote. "No, the bad part is that these are not, for the most part, refugees from a war. The demography doesn't match that profile; war refugees trend female, very young (children) and very old (men past the age of productive resistance to the war in their own country.) [sic] These 'refugees' are the exact polar opposite of that demographic profile; they trend male and of fighting age."
