First roadblock area of rebound...

"Could" get a gap up tomorrow, if the bears can't push it lower into the close today.

I think we saw a lot of market timers throw there hands up over the last year or so and capitulate to buy and hold side. You're right... Every once in a while we get reminded why it's a dangerous strategy.
I do not see any reason for thinking today is any different than last week other than we are one day from an election. Until cures for Corona's come out, I'm sitting tight. I lost a lot last week, I'll return when cures for the virus start to materialize?

On Saturday Trump basically said he wants the Fed to cut rates.

If not a emergency rate cut, 100% chance it happens this month according to: https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/interest-rates/countdown-to-fomc.html

Would be cool if we could get negative mortgage interest rates, that'd be time to refinance :D

That is a ZERO chance of happening here. We will never get negative mortgage interest rates. That wound cause a huge hit on the value of real estate were that to happen, and banks would immediately stop writing loans.

Definitely understand your wanting to wait until things settle...seems much of today's rise was based on sentiment/renewed confidence and probably the realization that last week was a huge overreaction. Hopefully it stays that way, but surely there will be continued volatility as this thing spreads, causes work disruptions and then many people recover. Could be like Waves...:o

Wild swings this morning. Any guesses on whether we close positive or negative today? :fing02:  ??

Your point of "Gap Filled" made me lock in whatever is left of rally, and assume 200 EMA willl get breached again and might serve as an upward cap before new lows, given virus incertainties, and the fact the Fed rate cut couldn't keep the rally going more than a few pathetic minutes.

I started thinking, HMM, Markets are way up, 2 days in a row, looking good, but there's always Corona? Being a bold ex-rugby player I jumped in at 7:30am. I went back to my intense programming job and I peaked at Marketwatch again at 11:30am. Markets way down disaster looming so I bail. Spring time, markets will bloom again? That is unless Corona spreads, explosively, which may happen?

I would much rather miss a rally (missed a lot in last 3 years) than lose that which I already have

It's fixing to get real bad. I sold all holdings in my personal Roth this morning right after the fed cut rates and the market dropped. I'm in cash all the way around. Now to wait this out and make big money on the way back up.
Im thinking about August?

I think the turn around will come much sooner. We are an impatient population these days. As soon as the first virus vaccine hits the market, we'll be putting this in the rearview mirror. My guess is the turn around will start by the end of April.

If you are referring to COVID-19, there won't be a vaccine available to the public any time soon. Most estimates are saying 12-18 months.

I'm mostly in Traditional TSP account, but I do have some in a ROTH started many years ago. I am not exactly sure why having money in a ROTH, during a crisis is way more disastrous than a regular TSP accont?

No, I think that hope begins to creep in by the last of April. Human trials will be well under way and good news (i hope) will bleed into the media.
