The early gains reached toward the open gap, but no fill. This shows some fatigue from the bulls, and the bears are trying to over, but there's still an hour left and underestimating the bulls lately hasn't been a winning formula.

The rally is really pushing for all it can get. The 200-day MA is being tested today. One gap was filled - another opened...

In case you were wondering if bad news was good news or bad these days... :)

Bad economic news is bad for the stock market again with the Fed already on hold

The stock market now has to judge each economic report on its own merit, without the expectation that any weakness would drive the Fed to consider easing policy.

That's because the Fed has put itself on hold for now, promising to pause in its rate hiking and wind down its program to shrink its balance sheet in the second half of the year.

The real test for markets is whether the weaker data on business spending and consumer spending are just temporary because of uncertainty over trade and the government shutdown, as many economists suspect, or signs of a bigger slowdown ahead.

Interesting quote from that article:

"Regardless of the theoretical underpinnings, the U.S. Congress and President Donald Trump have passed and signed massive tax cuts and increases in spending with no revenue-raising offsets of a similar magnitude. And those actions came after Republicans spent years complaining of deficits under President Barack Obama."

The indices are still holding onto solid gains with less than two hours to go in this quadruple witching expiration day, but the Transports just went negative. :suspicious:

The S-fund is testing the 50 / 200-day EMA again. Last one held. Another buying opportunity, or is the rug going to get pulled out from under it?

The S&P didn't close above 2815.

I'm sick. I got in the C Fund 3 days ago. ( Forgot to enter it in the auto tracker)
Had my 1% for the month made and missed the deadline to get out yesterday because I got busy at work. So I got out today and lost it all back plus another 1% give or take...
So I'm down about $2500!
I succumbed to FOMO!
I hate this market.

I'm guessing that rising support line near 2775 will be tested early next week, and what a test it will be.
