tsptalk's Market Talk

There's actually 400 more stocks down than up on the NYSE this morning but yields are up big and that is pushing the financial stocks up big, and that's helping the S&P outperform right now...

Tale of two markets today. Google has the large caps flying, but the small caps are dying...

Still 4 hours of trading to go.

So a ton of money moved from small caps to big caps today. Is that a sign that investors are getting more defensive? Or they simply just like those companies more at this time.

I'm not sure. Rising interest rates hurt small companies more, but it hasn't hurt small caps yet. Tariffs hurt small companies less. It may have just been a case of more rotation. Oil stocks did well yesterday.

The Russell 2000 is holding at the50-day EMA for now, but there's a little more support just below if that fails.

The credit market continues to look very good. The breakout after the long consolidation appears to be legit.

The small caps bounced back quickly so far this morning. It seems no one really wants to sell but only move their money somewhere else...

The I-fund is getting beat up...

And the dollar's rally doens't help it.

Nice pop in the U.S. indices today but the poor I-fund still has to deal with yet another rally in the dollar today.

It looks like it could be a good risk / reward move, but if it breaks down, it could go down fast and hard.

U.S. holds up as global equities struggle

Title sums it up. US is at/near highs but still seems strong with no good entry point. While the I-fund is at/near a one year low, normally worth a short term risk. But the Dollar shows no sign of weakening in the short term. But as the saying goes 'buy when there's blood in the streets'. Totally torn. I may simply go partial exposure.
