TSP share price question

Hello, I am new to TSP and have just started investing in it. My question is this:

Why when I log into tsp.gov I see share prices that are vastly different from the prices reflected on the yahoo graphs? For example, yesterday the S&P 500 (C Fund) closed at 1,244.12 but the share price of the C Fund yesterday was 13.39. How is the share price of the C Fund within the tsp.gov website determined based off the 1244.12 closing price of the S&P 500? Thanks for any info.

Hi Bob -
All 5 funds (G, F, C, S and I) started at $10 per share back in June of 2003. They are now where they are based on the gains or losses the indices they track (S&P 500, Wilshire 4500, EAFE, etc.) incurred since then.

For example the C fund is currently $13.40 per share meaning it is up 34% since June 2003. That means the S&P 500 is likely up 34% since June 2003 as well.
