I'm considering leaving Federal service but am not yet at retirement age - what decisions, if any, do I need to make with respect to my TSP account, at the time of separation? Thanks.

You can leave it there if your balance is large enough. I think theres a minimum limit but I don't know what it is.

You can roll it over to an IRA.

I think you can roll it over to your new employers retirement plan but I'm not sure on that one.

I'm sure there will be someone along shortly that will be of more help.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the Message Board Rebd40. You can leave it in the TSP and let it build, just like before retirement, but no contributions are allowed. After retirement you can schedule a Monthly distribution (withdrawal) if you want.
Best if luck,:D

Welcome Rebd40! This is what the TSP has to say about it...

The TSP does not like us clicking on their links to get to the page we want, so clicking on this link may only take you to their home page. Your best bet it to cut and page the link into your browser.
